See, even CNS is talking about "the process"
BB: That's right. But why did you come home?
The Major: I'm here because Nick Saban wouldn't allow me any input into the offense even though I was the offensive coordinator. I called the plays but had no say in the scheme or the weekly gameplan. I've always felt if they're going to ask you to cook the meal, they ought to let you put out the knives and forks. And you know where I'd like to put one of those knives.

You do know that is a spoof don't you? That is not an actual interview.
Asked if Applewhite was promised a line of succession to either offensive coordinator or even head coach, the first source said, "People keep talking about that, but that is absolutely not true at all. They're not talking that kind of silliness. I think Major just wants to be stable (after three other jobs in three years)."
Brown contacted Applewhite Sunday, the same day he asked Alabama coach Nick Saban for permission to interview Applewhite.
Applewhite had been in town earlier this month, speaking with Davis. But there were no discussions then about joining the Texas staff. Davis has served as a mentor to Applewhite, who runs an offense similar to the Longhorns at Alabama.
