Just talked to my buddy who works for Adidas, he's in San Antonio now and he confirmes the reports that Najee had asked US Army Bowl to switch his departing flight from California to Birmingham. Looks like he will be flying on same flight as Tua.

Good info @Bobby Kunz, saw that on a CBS feed as well. No where else in the country can the #1 RB recruit land and start out #5 on the depth chart (if such a thing existed at Bama) next spring practice.

Did they link it back to Barton Simmons? He put something out in the middle of the afternoon.

This whole deal with the flight reads like a comedy of errors. I'm guessing there's a small clerical error with the Army Bowl. Clerical might be the wrong word, oversight?

EE's are still pretty rare these days. Add to that he's leaving the game and headed to school? I can see the person handling the flights assuming he's headed back to the same place he left. Natural assumption, ya know?

Then someone notices the flight ... gets reported and turned into a story.

Yes, I heard from my guy at Adidas he was supposed to fly back home after Army Bowl, but his mom decided to meet him in San Antonio and she will carry all his clothes, school items, ext. needed for school.

I asked that yesterday due to seeing so many reporters over the last year "break news" only to find out their "sources" were something they'd seen published, or tweeted. Dan Patrick took ESPN to task a couple of years ago with their football guys claiming "sources" which ended up being "I was watching TV and heard ... "

I just ran across the report from MSN about Harris and ... "The flight change was first reported by 247Sports." I'm not a fan of much MSN puts out the have to give them a H/T for acknowledging from where they learned about Harris and the flight.

I know I've said this before but I can't tell you how much this reminds me of "Julio to OU," or the fretting voiced when Urban visited Trent for practically an entire day ... wasn't it "Cam to USC" for a good few weeks?
