🌎 Pride Month? "And just like that companies never really cared."

Got an email at work, today, about the whole pride month bullshit. I didn't read it, only the subject line...then deleted it. I don't have time for that nonsense.

It doesn't, and hasn't, affected my day/life one way or another. Not this year, nor last.

I'm in the position if you tell me one thing but do another? I don't trust you. I won't in the future. If you act one way one day, then another way another day, I don't trust you in either 24 hour space.

IF you support a cause on one day, and then one year later it doesn't exist? I don't believe you today, nor yesterday.

Every professional team and every corporation that displays pride shit can go fuck themselves.
I've wondered (all too often) why companies feel the need to advertise that crap. It seems to me that a company's main goal is to make money...plain and simple. And they should want to make as much money as possible. So why would they alienate a large portion of a potential customer base by advertising certain groups? Especially ones as politically-charged as BLM or the LGBR549 community. It just doesn't make sense.

Supporting something like BLM will certainly drive a large portion of their customers to their competition. I know because there are places I don't give my money to because of their affiliations. They're free to align with whomever they want. And I'm free to give my money to whomever I want.

Every decision has consequences...some more dire than others.

I’ve never cared about a company’s politics just like for the most part I don’t give a damn about a musicians political leanings. I have personal reasons for supporting places that support the LGBTQ community, but more than once a year, Target is currently paying the price for their backpedaling of said community.

We’re all free to give our money to whomever we want. I just never have viewed things like that with regards to politics. I don’t go to some places that I just don’t like, but has nothing to do with politics like Chick Fil A…..I think their chicken is nasty as hell, but I’m not a big fan of yard bird, but their’s is nasty just like KFC’s is.

The ONLY time I've made a decision on where to spend money was during COVID and those ridiculous "mask police." Just stupid stuff. There was a deli that ended up closing due to the pandemic. He had four locations where one would require a mask but if you drove a couple of miles another of his locations didn't.

It's not that much different than Pride Month. He chose to do one thing at one time and then did the opposite at another location.

There’s a huge difference. One is using a community (I don’t care what people’s feelings are about said community) and one is not being consistent, BIG difference. When a company uses a community so that they can feel “inclusive” then change because they don’t want pushback from a certain politician, there’s a huge difference and the biggest reason why a certain company Target is struggling

If you openly support a community but only choose to do it, openly, in one month of the year? That's a far cry from consistency. It's placation.

I appreciate you citing Target. It's a great example. For lack of a better expression, "they went full gay" when they promoted Pride Month the way they did the last few years. They purposefully and publicly built the podium from where they were preaching. It didn't go over well with their consumer base and they dialed it back, a lot, this year.

I look at the Target story like this. Their latest actions of dialing it back? It makes business sense. They were alienating their consumer base. Openly, and loudly, celebrating Pride Month? I appreciate the sentiment but that didn't make business sense. All they had to do was look at their demographics and see, "not a smart move." (See Bud Light.)

There's a Free Will Church up the street that changed their signage June 1st. For three or four months it read, "call for prayer or visit this website." On the first, it read "All Are Welcome." I don't know...I do wonder, "why on that day/date?"

"Thirty days has September, October, June, and November. All the rest have 31 except when leap year comes."

They are the same people on the 31st of May as they are June 1st. They aren't any different July 1st than June 31st. Target, like others, chose to point to a group based on identity for one month and then it stopped.

If ya whore around Monday through Saturday but go to church on Sunday...you're still a whore.

Target abandoning that community because they were scared the dude in the White House would go after them was chicken shit and their sales since has proven that it was a bad decision.

I cannot stand companies that only “support” that community for one month a year.

Bud Light was stupid. Their biggest consumer of their piss water are/were conservatives (their business analytics prove that) and they decide to go to a trans person? Made zero sense, they should’ve chosen a different brand of their beer. AB as a corporate company has a very long track record of supporting LGBTQ charities and groups, but Bud Light? Their biggest consumer was rodeo cowboys/cowgirls, it would be like Coors deciding to use the “Buckskin” brand of beer like that.

It's a classic example of something I wouldn't follow if it made any sense at all. Now, I'm a bit enthralled with the aftermath.

I bought a wallet from Target about 10 or more years ago. Their "pick-up" was just...effed up. I haven't been back since. The only reason to go in that shopping center is the guitar shop.

There’s too many other places in Denver to be shopping to think about Target

Here, it's the intersection. It's the area where A LOT of wrecks happen. A LOT! I have to go through it to get there. Nope. If a LEO had a quota of 20 tickets a shift, he'd write 1000 in a week. It's that bad. I do not drive through there. Too many stupid people.

I can't remember the last time I was in a retail store. (Aside from hardware.)

Damn. I literally can't remember. I think it was a Walmart in the Garden Department...so I don't know if that qualifies...buying wood for the smoker.

I chortled, out loud.
I wonder how many people realize that the "B" in LGBT proves that there are only two genders.
