🏈 Oregon vs. UCLA....

Maybe. How exactly has their offense been been challenged? Once they play someone without a defense that ranks better than the bottom half of the NCAA we'll have a better idea about what they can do. They are impressive offensively, no doubt, the best I've ever seen, right up there with Penn State in '94 - look into that team, they were unbelievable, the backups were typically in by the middle of the 3rd quarter. To this point, Oregon has done it by cranking up against really bad defenses. I'm not saying that they aren't going to tear it up all year, I'm just saying that judging their offensive greatness should probably wait until they hit a few tougher defenses.

I totally understand all your points but the only problem w/ how teams rank statistically (on Defense in this particular case) is that the statistical numbers of the Ducks competition has been skewed b/c the Ducks destroyed their defense. That is the entire problem of statistics against good teams...the competitions numbers will suck mostly (not entirely) because they got whipped.

Let me ask the question this way....In the SEC Title Game last year we were firing on all cylinders! How do we get back to being multi demensional? The media wants to say Alabama's high powered offense in every other sentence, and I agree we have a dream team of talent but it appears as though the entire offense is disinterested and would rather be on the sidelines having a hot dog and a coke! At least that is the way it appears on TV...maybe my TV is broken?!

Establish your o-line's dominance. There was a different feel to Bama games last year when you guys had the ball. No one was really able to hit the backs in the backfield, McElroy had time to throw the ball and as a corollary, had the confidence to throw it deep. The physicality of the offensive line is not there and McElroy has ZERO confidence right now. The two are not mutually exclusive. If the offensive line can return to their ways from a year ago then McElroy has a shot at regaining confidence. As it stands, McElroy is more or less at the mercy of the other team's pass rush. He does not have a shot at regaining his confidence until that offensive line learns to play again.

Your TV isn't broken. It is difficult to get excited when you know as a running back you're going to get hit shortly after getting the handoff, or as a QB when you know you're going to get hit before your receivers can get open. That brings me to another point--your receiver play has not been quite the same this year. They're just not getting open quick enough. Perhaps this is a result of the offensive line's poor play because it seems like they're not getting open quickly enough. Although, there were SEVERAL plays against USCjr where McElroy had all day to throw and still couldn't find anyone.

I wasn't really trying to compare Oregans stats. All I really meant was so many teams can run it when the want and can pass it when they want too as well. Just seems like others teams in a 3rd and 18 are able to get 19 for the 1st down, and when we are faced with 3rd and 6, we are lucky to get 3 or 4....I think the true answer is, no one on the offensive side really wants it and have become very disinterested all the way around. Until CNS can ignite that fire and Passion we once had we will have to settle with what we have...maybe too many of them are still playing the NC over and over in their heads and think since we won last year we must get another one for this year too! Yep, we can all pick one up at wal mart in the toy section. Desire and Passion is the true answer I believe...I hope our guys will dig deep and find it! Our Bama Family Believes in our Team! RollTide Roll!

Roll Tide Roll!

i think it has a lot to do with execution.

They dont have the talent we have top to bottom. what they do have are players who have bought in, know what there assignements are, and the biggest thing, they accomplish those assignements on a consistent basis.

so what they have that we dont is consistent execution. no missed blocks, no dropped passes, staying in their lanes, no missed tackles, etc.
