Here's another thought: Once an Auburn-graduate pharmacist behind the counter said something to me, the customer in an Alabama shirt. It was during the time of the Tuberville fingers. So low class. She had to crow about the Auburn win. I really didn't like her. I wanted to cross that counter and throttle her. But I didn't, because I'm a lady. I just waited for the Alabama renaissance that I knew was coming. Winning is the best revenge.
I know many civilized Auburn fans who don't do that. I have dear friends and relatives who love Auburn and Georgia. They attended those schools. We don't throw stones.
Maybe it's because in the south, we try to be cordial. It seems simple to understand.
