That was a horrible peformance. There is really no excuse for that game! Bama had more talent a better coach.
That was one of those Shula type games that makes me mumble $***&%%$%@& I hate caring about Bama sometimes.
Obviously one play turned the game around but we had other blown chances as well. The Oline was bad (not to name names but.... was anybody suprised at the performance with the personnel we had)
Rashad DROPPED an INT that could have swung the game. Stover dropped a TD pass on the first possesion (the ball wasnt a perfect throw but youve got to come up with that one) Our QB play was flat out BAD. Terrible decision making for most of the game. The most glaring after the outcome was all but determiined IMO. How do you sit back for 8 seconds on a hail mary play and take a sack? Is he waiting on somebody to come open at the goalline in this situation or what? That play summed up our Qb play Sat.
The coaches have to "bear" (pun intended) some responsibility as well. HORRIBLE play calling at the end of the first half. 2 Straight plays off right guard/tackle. Has anybody confused right tackle with a strong point for us on Sat?(or power running game for that matter) I know most would agree thats our weakest point. So on third down we Play action off right tackle???? They know we have to pass with NO TOs left!!!! Why play action in this situation? (to our Qbs defense in this situation he couldnt take a sack either and im sure he was told this during the TO) So again the play action leaves a man unblocked why call it? Makes no sense to me! The play action should have been called on first or second down and you can save the TO. After we have burned the TO and have to throw on third down either a quick slant or a fade (I hate that play but in this instance wasnt that bad) Neither of these plays will result in a sack and at worst we get a FG before half!
Anyway was a rough loss!! No excuse in losing to MSU!
Thats my rant Ive pumped enough Sunshine around here lately
