Thinking about sawing off the 12 guage and putting a pistol grip on it. Thoughts? And is sawing it off something I should try on my own or does it need to be done professionally (and under the counter)?

Dry fire, dry fire, dry fire. Get back used to the sight staying on target until the hammer falls. You may be anticipating recoil. Marksmanship is everything that happens before the hammer falls. Recoil happens after that.

For about a grand you can get a legal shotgun with as short as a 6 inch barrel. Cutting your own down shorter than legal length isn't a good idea.

As a dedicated turkey gun?
No, just to keep at the house for safety due to the mean streets of Spanish Fort, AL.

All my guns we're lost in the tornado in 2011, this is the lone survivor of all mine. I don't hunt anymore, no plans to hunt anytime soon either.

Have you guys shot a Judge revolver? They will shoot a 410 shotgun shell and a 45 long colt. My wife keeps one in the house for when Im out of town working. I cant seem to hit anything at the range with that gun.

Sort of what I'm going for, but I don't want to drop that much money. If I drop that kind of cash, I'll get a kimber .45

Great tip alabiker. Just went out and did that drill, fire one, reset, and then dry fire. I was definitely anticipating, i can work that out. Thank you sir.

I have a 12 gauge that i just swap to an 18 in barrel and pistol grip when i get home from skeet. Barrel and grip was cheaper than another 12 gauge. I would love one of those alabiker is talking about though.
