I can't say I remember even hearing of boiled peanuts until I moved to SC and there were more than a handful of farms in N AL who had crops. I'm not a big fan, but have to say a local guy here has some really good Cajun flavors. He runs his little trailer/food truck set up seven days a week; five off the I and two at the flea market.
Crazy story? My uncle buys them every time he visits the Lowcountry. Not to eat, mind you, but as a car freshner. Seriously, he likes to put them on his dashboard so his car will smell like peanuts. I. Don't. Get. It.
