🏈 Matt Millen....Really? Did he say that?

When asked if Alabama deserved to be number 1 (which matters NOTHING at this point of the season but that's not the point) he said, "yeah, maybe but don't overlook those Oregon Ducks because if you notice, Kirk (Herbstreit) didn't say Alabama had a great passing attack because that's their Achilles heel and Oregon doesn't have that problem". Really Matt Millen? Are you just that butt hurt? (Oops! probably not a great subject with Matt).

Ignorance like this just drives me nuts but it does give me some message board fodder so, thanks Matt!

Didn't he defend Joe Paterno and Penn State? He also made some really good draft picks while at Detroit. Just my opinion, he proves he's a knucklehead time and time again.

Remember Oregon vs LSU, Oregon vs Auburn, or even Oregon vs USC (38 points) last year. Defense has always been the question I've had about Oregon, what can they stop and when they play a good/fast defense, what can they do against it.

I just think there has been too much of a lean towards the passing game these days. The NFL certainly is looking that way and from the Big 12 to the west coast that is all that matters. Their perspective is that the run game just supplements the pass.

My thoughts are the exact opposite of which is forces a much more physical type of game to be played. When we play a team that is pass first, I think it falls right into the hands of our defense. This is one of the reasons why, regarding scheme, our defense does so well. But then when the 3rd quarter is almost over, the physical part of the game starts to press & press & press... this literally squeezes the life out of a team on both sides of the ball. Most teams are just not built to play us... regardless of scheme.

It also never ceases to amaze me how people say we don't pass that well but we run great, when in fact it is almost always 50/50. Like I said, I think folks today think that it needs to be 60/40 or 70/30 w/ a lean towards the pass... but yet 'Bama keeps on grinding out the wins. I think my signature says it all.
