🏈 🔎 Looking ahead to Georgia. Neither team is the same as they were a matter of week ago.

Ok @Brandon Van de Graaff . What’s the word on Jam. I trust your sources.
I also trust @TerryP & would ask him but he’d give me the answer AND a recipe for crappie au gratin lol!
I've been dwelling on this. I sense jealousness. Or, starvation. Or, someone used to eating beans out of a can. Or...

Maybe you've mentioned it elsewhere but I don't remember seeing it if you have. How well do you think grubb changes his play calling in game? He really frustrates me.

He can drive me insane at times, and I think he (and even DeBoer) are not the best (certainly not the quickest) at adjusting throughout the game. I think both (and Sheridan last season) are learning that the SEC is not just a step up in talent, but a step up in coaching and defensive coordination.

On Grubb, this season for example, some of his opening scripts have been great. Others have been duds... not much in between. He's been a little stubborn IMO with the 1st down runs and the runs up the middle overall. He also tends to ask to much of Simpson at times, with long developing routes and not enough protection. It was good to see him move Simpson out of the pocket some last night, that helped, but he doesn't do it enough. Also, while his more gimmicky goal line, 2 point plays, and 4th and short plays are almost always gems, his normal bag of trick plays needs to be trashed. They've been drive killers too many times. He doesn't handle offensive momentum well... tries to do too much when too much isn't needed.

All that said, for the last month of games, the Simpson has been just off on some throws that would have been huge gainers or TD's... on others, the WR or RB has dropped the pass. Clean some of that up, and Bama wins a couple of those games much more comfortably.

Where did you pull that from?

My stat site has 10

Will 99% guarantee the game stats you see are including 2 throw away passes from when Simpson was under pressure. One was in the 1st quarter with 6:19 left and Simpson threw it OOB to Bernard's side of the field, but it wasn't intended for him. The other was late 2nd quarter (2:57 to play)... similar play, Simpson was about to be sacked, tried to throw it deep to Williams, but the pressure forced a bad throw which landed like 15 yards from Bernard instead.

This is evident in how they can light a team up for a quarter or even a half then be held in check after.... Just seems like they do not have enough options from prep during the week to keep the defense guessing. Also seems like they are not doing enough internal quality control check so their tendancies are catching up with them and making them predictable. All speculation of course,

I think the 2 minute for has been more effective for Ty because they are limiting options and just playing ball. It seems like the Defenses are reading the tendencies and showing one thing getting Simpson to change and then jumping out of it. By then the offense is down to 2 seconds and has no option but to snap the ball with the matchup defense wants. Again more speculation on my part but it is not speculation that Simpson is making checks based on the look the defense is showing and using every bit of the play clock consistently play after play and it is a problem. It appears this is by design by CKD and Grubb since it has not changed all year.

At some point you just have to let your guys whip the guy in front of him. Completely uneccessary at times.

A more efficient run game will help tremendously. They've got to get that part fixed for next season. When SEC defenses don't have to respect the run, you live behind the 8 ball.
