I enjoyed this game through and through, and with a loss like this its hard not to be bitter. It was a hard fought game and I'm proud of our players. You have to look at the positives, and overall...the future is bright people. We obviously still need to improve the offensive line when it comes to pass protection. It was also no secret that we were no match for LSU's D-lineman in the running game...talk about dominating.

As far as the defense, we still have a long way to go it would seem. With Coach Saban's schemes, it will take more then a year to implement what he really wants to do(Just wanted to remind everyone). Personally, I believe he's not able to blitz like he wants and as a result we're not aggressive enough at this point. If you look at his LSU defenses and ours now..we've got a while..but we will be dominating, aight? :D

Bring on them Bulldogs, War Hawks, and especially those Tigers.

:D ROLL TIDE!

I think our defense did a very good job in several areas.
- First, and seemingly overlooked by many in the media, is that we held the LSU rushing attack to just 87 yards!
- Our 3 interceptions in the 2nd quarter got us back in it.
- We DID get pressure on their QB quite a few times, forcing incompletes and interceptions.

On offense, we also did a great job in a couple of areas.
- We scored 34 points on the #2 defense in the country! I guess I should credit 7 of those points to the special teams - but still...
- We moved the ball well on several drives.

Special Teams:
- Arenas return for 60+ yard punt return for TD
- Good kick coverage for the most part

All in all, there's plenty of reason for optimism.

Very good reason for optimism AFF, given the point of view on last nights game. I should of been more clearer that I thought we still played very well. My point was that we're not playing complete football right now, and I was giving some reasons why. I'm not worried though...we're on our way. ;tr

My question still stands, lol...

Google toolbar can be helpful, happy?

I usually know all the NCAA schools' names...theirs seemed to escaped me.

Just wondering.

Yeah, ULM seems to be a team I don't know much about at all. War Hawks...odd name.

They were the "Northeast Louisiana Indians" until recently. They change the name to ULM Indians first with the name change of the University, and then changed to Warhawks before last season due to the offensive nature of "Indians."

Indians is more offensive than War Hawks? :?

Apparently it is if you are an Indian.

If I were a native American (well...more than 1/16th), the term "Indian" would offend me if it were used to describe me. Indians are natives of India. Native Americans are Cherokee, Creek, Sioux, Crow,Mojave, and many others. "Indian" was the misgiven name applied by white European imperialists.

Ironically, as little as I know about them I knew that they were the Indians previously, but that's largely due to my doing preseason/pregame writeups on them. I'll tell you though, it can be a little confusing at first when you're looking for stats/stories and you run across WarHawks in one article and Indians in another if you don't know the story.

Do you guys know off-hand any other teams that have had to change their team names since that ruling came down a couple of years ago? I know there are several but I can't remember which ones. I know that Utah and FSU got to keep their names since the mascots designated a particular tribe i.e. Seminoles or Utes.

North Dakota has 3 years to obtain the approval of 2 of the Sioux Tribes regarding their use of "Fighting Sioux." If they are unable to, they will have to change their name.

Good night?!

Let's just change their name to the North Dakota Fighting Oglala then or something if schools have to narrow it down that much. Seems like Sioux is about the same as calling your team Utes of Seminoles. I mean, I know that there are many Sioux nations but...

Is it a bit of overkill? :?

If I were North Dakota and I was forced to change my name, I believe I would go with "The North Dakota land-snatching power-hungry whiteman".

Since I'm sure that would draw a few lawsuits, my second option would be "The North Dakota Fighting Casinos"

I like the first one! Nice!
