🏈 Looking ahead to Texas A&M

I know it hasn't quite been 24 hours, but let's speculate how the next game will go. I haven't paid much attention to ATM's games but I do know they are undefeated. How is their running game? I know they can sling it around and that our dB's have struggled somewhat but comparing the teams we've played vs the teams they've played, we should win this one. What say the experts?

Believe we had 3 missed tackles against Tennessee.

Chavis will make us pass... if he can. Their DEs are beasts, and there is experience in the secondary. Even when he does, we may continue to hit the hitches and WR screens. Would really love to hit OJ over and over in the flat and over the middle. He should be able to shield from a defender, but Jalen hasn't been accurate so maybe Lane continues to limit that?

On defense, there WRs are better than u cheats, as is their QB, in my opinion. The WRs are experienced, and big. Knight has a lot of experience and is a true dual threat. Their tackles are pretty good, but the rest of the line is young, and I don't know how good they are. They have a small, fast RB. We will hold them in the running game, so pressure on Knight will be key. Hopefully we can get to him - the secondary is going to have to play another great game.

Interestingly, A&M has more avg yds rushing than we do - but they played UCLA, Prarie View A&M, and USCe. I'll give them auby. We both played Arky and u cheat -
Bama: 264 vs Arky, 438 vs u cheat
A&M: 366 vs Arky, 353 vs u cheat

Everyone will point to u cheat overcoming 7 turnovers to force overtime with A&M. That gives me some solace. But it just doesn't tell the whole story.

I hope the home field advantage, the recent TOTAL play of the defense, and the running game will be enough to secure the win.

Alabama worked on the back practice field Monday after a resounding 39-point win in Knoxville over the weekend. Here is what I noticed during the media viewing period.

The team practiced in short and jerseys on a muggy afternoon in Tuscaloosa.

Starting right guard Alphonse "Shank" Taylor was with the offensive linemen but he stood off to the side and did not go through contact drills. Lester Cotton, who started in place of Taylor on Saturday, worked with the first-team offensive line.

Starting middle linebacker Reuben Foster worked as normal during practice. He suffered some sort of arm/shoulder discomfort during the Tennessee game but did not miss any time.

I think one of the biggest points of all this is that CNS can now simulate a true dual threat QB against the Defense now. Which is one of the reasons he said the have moved to this type of offense with Hurts, so they can effectively practice defending it.

I agree, I can't wait to see what these guys do to this Duel threat QB. He will be pull grass from his face mask a lot this Saturday.

They could not stop the split zone run game vs Tennessee or QB zone read run game, or perimeter passing game. Those are the exact things Alabama wants to do.

Chavis can't break out the Bear front vs this offense like he did from 2009-2014 and slow the offense down this time around.

All is very true and it led to almost 700 total yards from the vols. Dobbs passing was prolific for one reason only, yards after the catch. They broke over 30 tackles against the aggies.

The team worked outside as it continued its preparations for No. 6 Texas A&M on Saturday. It was a unusually warm mid-October day. This is what I noticed during the media viewing period.

Alphonse "Shank" Taylor remained limited coming off his concussion against Arkansas. Lester Cotton took the first-team reps at right guard.

Mario Cristobal worked with the tight ends on combo blocks with tackles. The tight ends have been one of the reasons why the perimeter running game has been as successful as it has this season.

Reuben Foster worked without any limitations for the second straight day.

Nick Saban was FIRED UP while coaching the secondary with a lot of NSFW language that mainly revolved around the unit's energy level.

The dime defense worked with its usual lineup of Marlon Humphrey and Anthony Averett at the corners, Minkah Fitzpatrick at Star, Ronnie Harrison at Money, Eddie Jackson and Hootie Jones at safety. Reuben Foster was the alternating linebacker at Mike along with Shaun Dion Hamilton.

Rodney Orr put out a stat earlier on Facebook that I think will tell the tell Saturday. Bama thru 4 SEC games has allowed 65 yards a game on the ground. Conversely, A&M has yielded 200 yards a game on the ground in 4 conference games.

Since a&m looks horrible, against the run on paper and on the field, I would bet that they go balls out to stop the run and dare us to pass. However, We have gradually improved there. I don't know how we can be a 19 point favorite, but I do believe we come out of this with the W.
