🏈 Looking ahead to Eastern Illinois Panthers

This is the game I've been looking forward to for the last two weeks. This is the one where I hope we'll score enough to allow the starters to rest more and give younger players some experience in the game.

Eastern used two quarterback this season: LaCrue has started six games and Wolf has started five this season. LaCrue has completed 81-of-147 passes for 851 yards with four TDs and six interceptions and run for 514 yards and seven TDs on 122 carries this season. Wolf has completed 83-of-138 passes for 1,054 yards with eight TDs and four interceptions and run for minus-33 yards on 36 carries in 2025.

They both combined for 12 TD and 10 Interceptions and 33 sacks. YIKES.

Plenty of opportunities for Defense to capitalize on that. So this is my expectations for tomorrow for the team:

Offense:
I want to See Ty to get in a flow, moving the ball down the field and not make any mistakes. He doesn't need a big day tomorrow, just show enough to get back on path for Auburn game.

I want to see lot of running plays tomorrow. 25 to 30 plays averaging over 5 yards per carries. I want to see Hill, Miller and Dear to get some work along with Riley.

I want 2 to 4 deep pass to Williams, fix his drop issues.

Defense: Just keep doing what they have been doing, but let's keep working on running game.

Kicking game: If there's opportunity to kick FG, Let Talty do it. Build his confidence up.

I want the back up units in the game by 3rd quarter and keep scoring. Don't run the clock. Keep scoring.

Like you, I want a game much like the ULM game from earlier in the year. I just told a co-worker, “allow the first team offense to have a strong showing, Ty back to normal, good rhythm and all, then get our other QBs some time in to run the offense. To me, that is the biggest difference between past and present. Coach Saban would often handcuff our young QBs with strictly handing the ball off while DeBoer has shown that he wants the young guys to run the offense. We already play so many on defense, they just need to keep balling out. Should there be a chance, let Talty kick it. He does need a confidence boost.
