Several of those departures in skill spots (Hill, Manziel, Evans, Landry, Beckham) are great developments for us. The departing meat for LSU and the LT for aubrun are fine with me as well.

GA noticeably absent from this list. KY, MSU and Arky not so much.

Tim

I see a few names I haven't heard of and a few others that I think should have returned. BUT, it's their choice to make, not mine. I feel as if leaving after that third year is so customary now that kids don't actually sit and weigh the pros and cons, much like the whole one and done college basketball deal that derails so many young careers. LSU undoubdetly loses the most here, along with us and Texas A&M. I don't root for early departures by any means, because I'd rather beat our rivals at their full strength simply to know we were better than their best players, not a depleted team that had trouble lining up.

The way I understand it Collins' decision had a lot to do with Hill's decision.

jeez, you could almost make a whole other team with nothing but SEC players on it (which would be fun to watch, tbh).

but i gotta agree with RollTide24. there's just too many for them all to get picked.

Random thoughts and numbers this morning:

Today, 1/15, is the last day kids can declare for the draft.

I've kept the first post in this thread as up to date as possible: I believe the numbers are correct.

Here's an interesting stat I ran across this morning.

If you recall, last year there were 32 players drafted from the SEC East, 31 from the SEC West.

This year, when you look at the names above, you'll see that there are seven kids leaving LSU early and five leaving Bama.

How does that compare to the rest of the nation?

Eight. That's how many early entrees are leaving the B1G (4) and the Big12 (4,) combined.

Both conferences had 22 players drafted (each) last season. The PAC had 28 kids drafted.

If three more kids declare today that'll equal the number of kids drafted from the ACC last season.

To put the LSU numbers into perspective what they've lost the last two years. So is this due to the guaranteed rookie pay or something else within LSU? There is no way you can replace this kinda loss easily...wondering if this is a peak into the future of College Football.
