Good pick up by the Texans! I remember some on this board saying Kareem made a "stupid decision" and that he was "3rd round talent at best." Hope some of you come out of the woodwork and admit you're wrong.

I said mid to late 2nd. I still think he would have benefitted from another year under the system. Good for him though.

I'll admit I didn't see this coming. I thought early 2nd round at best, then started hearing late 1st. Mid 1st is outstanding. Go Kareem!

Congrats to him. I just wish he was coming back. Looks like we could use him.

I'll remember him for two plays in particular. He ran down Enrique Davis from behind on a 60+yard run and stopped him on the 7 or 8 in the Ole Miss game in '08. That allowed us to hold Ole Miss to a field goal. We didn't know it at the time, but that ended up being the difference in a win vs. overtime/loss ? as Alabama ended up winning 24-20 at the end.

Also, he made a key pick in this year's Ole Miss game as Ole Miss was within the 10 driving for a TD.

For the record I wasn't really trying to make a "I told ya so" type topic. If anything Kareem went higher than I thought he would. I figured he'd be a second round pick. It's just that I remember two people, who I can't remember (nobody that's posted in this topic so far though), that were saying some really harsh things about Kareem when he announced his intentions to go pro. It got to the point where the insults hurled at Kareem were getting a little personal and they basically said he was an idiot who would be lucky to be drafted at all...and I'm not exaggerating either.

I did say at the time that he announced his decision that I thought it was a bad choice and that I didn't see him being drafted sooner than the mid second round. I don't recall saying anything personal about him. I might've been harsh though. I'm happy for Kareem, I'm willing to be proven wrong about a Bama player being drafted all day every day.
