šŸˆ Julio's Knee

With Julio out, it seems like a perfect chance toget McCoy involved, along with Norwood and Bowman(though it might be handy for Bowman to know he wont get the PI call if he runs into another reciever mid route lol)

Im interested to see what the freshmen can do after the catch, and McCoy is as solid as always.

Always a chance of a sophmore slump with Julio, but Greg spreads it around. He has had two unJuliolike drops, one of them after he injured his knee. You cant tell anything from that.

He will not have the same numbers as last year, but I attribute that more to how McEroy plays and the other playmakers stepping up more than anything else at this point.

lol...You can believe whatever you want but bottom line is Julio missed some catches that he most certainly should have caught. McCoy played very well as did the rest of the receiving corp. The media portrays him to be the best....just hope he doesnt buy into all that garbage and continues to execute well.

Who denied that Julio dropped a cpl passes that usually he makes and prolly should've made? Nobody did. Jerry Rice never dropped a pass in his career? It happens. McCoy played very well yes as has Hanks, as has Maze. That's great, again noone denies that, you are implying that McCoy is better than Julio which is, no offense to Mike, just dumb. And the media portray him to be our best because he is. That's pretty simple to understand my friend.

If Julio wasn't our best receiver then the media wouldn't be saying he is. We all know that ESPN does not hide their not liking us one bit and they have said Julio is one of the best receivers in the country. McCoy is good, but to even think he is as good as Julio is silly. Nothing personal, but it is.

Julio did drop a couple of balls, but so has A.J Green, Dez Bryant, and every other receiver that is in the top echelon of college football.

Julio will be alright.

Well...you guys have me convinced hes the best now...I must have watched two different games...lol.......all kidding aside..We all know what he is capable of doing and he has potential to do great things...bottom line is the best players make the plays when they have to and give the extra 100%...thats what seperates avg players from the elite. If Julio had put up numbers like McCoys and made the grabs that Maze and Hanks have...holy crap...ESPN would have had him on the heisman list already....wouldnt be able to shut em up. We are only into week 3 and in his defense..alot of ball still to be played. He is capable of playing better than he has so far....and McCoy has played exceptionally well. With that level of talent comes high expectations.....fair or not...thats the way it is.

How many teams have doubled McCoy, Maze, and Hanks? How many teams have double Jones? There is a reason defensive coordinators continue to double Jones. If anything, having a receiver like Julio allows your other receivers to have big games. Its kind of like have a T. Cody, he doesn't put up great stats because teams are not going to run right at him. Why would they?

Here's another problem with your logic.

Julio has played a little over four quarters this year. He's got as many catches as any of our other receivers.

Ingram happens to be leading the receiving numbers right now with seven.

True, he does have limited playing time due to the injury....however I dont feel there is a "problem" with my logic. His performance on the field during his playing time has not been to his ability or past performances...for whatever reason or reasons. Frankly, some of the catches made by the other receivers were more difficult to make than Julios drops. It is quite possible his early sub-par performance could light a fire under him and cause very positive results during the remainder of the season. He is most certainly capable of better. Certainly not a defining couple of games at all...just hope that his execution improves and he plays to his ability.

But, his performance has been par for what he's been doing.

Just as an example, and the only example we have considering how early he went out against FIU, he led the team in the number of receptions against Va. Tech. Maze and Hanks had one more than he did, combined.

We've used Maze and Hanks as our down field threat, and it's because of that position that they had more yards in the first game.

Maze had one 48 yard reception (two for the day) that accounted for just about all of his 57 on the day.

Hanks had three for the day, his longest 35 of his total of 55 yards.

Making a comparison between the results they had and the results Julio had isn't comparing apples to apples because they play different positions.

He dropped one against Va. Tech. No denying that.

But, the one he dropped versus FIU? Heck, I'm willing to bet he was a shocked as I was that Greg threaded those two defensive backs.

I see this whole thing as people rushing to judgment far, far too quickly.

FWIW, it's important to note McCoy had his first reception after Julio had banged up his knee, dropped that pass, and left the game. He likely wouldn't have had the numbers he did if Julio didn't get hurt? One good reason? He's directly behind Julio on the depth chart at that position.

As Terry said, it's not some apples to apples comparison. It isn't as black and white as it seems. Julio dropped a pass in the VT game, that's going to happen even to him. He also dropped a pass against FIU...but you have to account that he had just banged his knee up and was trying to play through it. Could Julio have played better? Yes, of course... Does that bring some reason to be alarmed and suddenly write him off as worse than Hanks, Maze, and McCoy over a couple of dropped passes? Asolutely not.

Preach on precha! Real talk right here.

Even more than the comments about his on field stuff, which is ridiculous anyway, was the T.O. and Chad Johnson comments he made or 'buying into his own hype.' Julio has done NOTHING, NOTHING to make someone assume something like that.
