"It's amazing some of the things that people would say [on a message board] or yell at you of a personal nature," Rodriguez said Monday. "You almost want to tell them, 'Get a life.'

"There's a whole lot bigger problems. Look at the economy."

I believe if he had come to Bama and had the kind of season he's had a Michigan, he might have had an even tougher time.

This guy actually has time to read message boards? As bad as "Big Blue" has been stinking things up at "The Big House" I would think he would have better things to do.

Pretty smart guy. Insulting what his fans love the most, sure RRod...it's not like its your day job or what you do for a living. Hell, I guess it shouldn't be anyway.

I'm with you guys. I'm not sure what is worse, how he is talking to fans? Or, that he actually pays attention to message boards?

Treasury Secretary Paulson and Fed Chairman Bernanke make $191,000 a year. Rodriguez makes $2.5 million a year. The people who make his vocation worth this amount are the ones he just told to "get a life". Very smart.

I dont really think so because Michigan fans are really irrational. Alabaama fans are a pretty reasonable bunch. Look at how nice we were to Shula and he was not always perfect. and sometimes people just repeat things like you just did and other people start to think Alabama fans are crazy. Ohter Bama fans know that we aren't really all that demanding of our coaches.

As much as I would like to agree with you, I feel like if Saban had come in here and gone 3-8, we would have not been very forgiving. In fact, this very message board was not devoid of its fair share of criticisms when Mike Shula went 6-7 his last year (not that I'm complaining about the results.... :D )

Seemed like everyone was pretty reasonable when Saban went 6-6 rgeular season last year. I think lot of times people just have to always mention something negative about Alabama even when talking about a team like Michigan.

I think you may be taking me from the wrong angle. I'm not trying to say anything bad about Alabama at all. Actually, I am pleased to have Saban instead because he can take the pressures of a big time program (which Dick Rod is not able to do, apparently).

I am not convinced Rodriguez will be coaching at UM next season. There is too little success RIGHT NOW for a guy like he is, who needs success immediately. What's more, they aren't thrilled with him right now up there.

LEt's say he does weather the storm this season. Anything short of a decent bowl next year....look out!

I guess we should thank RR for using the Alabama name for his own personal gain. He got a raise @ WV, then the "big" job. What did we get? Coach Nick Saban, the #1 recruiting class, 11-0 start, and #1 in the nation.

I'll take that trade...
