Unless I've missed something, after reading through all the pages in this thread, I probably agree mostly with
@ElephantStomp while most of the criticism against him has been unfair, yet sadly predictable, especially in the evangelical South. I have so many thoughts to add. There are lots of news about this latest conflict that's missing in this thread that would make some Israel supporters think twice. Most people who are reflexively "pro-Israel against the world" and who never oppose US aid and intervention on its behalf, regardless of the costs denominated in taxes, increased inflation, and/or reprisals from the 2nd largest religion on the planet, are simply ill-suited to engage in a non-emotional debate. If you're an American living today, experiencing the decline of our standard of living, the deterioration of the family, the pricing of homes (ie the incubators of families) out of reach of increasing swaths of new home owners, witnessing the urban collapse in our greatest cities, and you still think more aid to a foreign country who continues to steal land from indigenous people and who caters to rabbis who literally think their race is supreme while calling all others disparaging names (ie goyim) ... well it's frankly hard to debate with such people.
Been dealing with a serious illness in the family for while now, but when I get a chance I'll share some content I think would provide a broader perspective.
