I think I said this to you already, but... if there isn't any improvement by the end of the season, it's time to depart from Coach Roach. I hope he gets them coached up, but the play up front has not been where its needed.

I think at the very least he probably shifts spots or moves off the field. Barring something miraculous anyway.

I would bet that our schedule the last few years has been a hell of a lot tougher than UGA's.

It's the performance in important games where the differences are most apparent.

He's the best sheer D-line coaching talent we've had outside of Bo Davis. And we know we ain't touching Bo with a broken goal post.

Was just trying to make connections since Saban is friends with Garrett and has had him as a keynote speaker at several of his coaching clinics over the years.

And I know Davis had to leave due to certain circumstances, but thats been a long time since then, don't see why we wouldn't try to get him. Plus, he wasn't punished by the NCAA, and didn't get some penalty if he were to return to Alabama.

The system isn't the problem, the execution of the system however, is. Georgia runs the exact same defense, terminology and all.... and they've been highly successful at running it. Basically, it comes down to coaching it, and players executing what they've been taught on a consistent basis. And could you be a little more specific? I'm just curious as to what you'd like to see Bama run defensively?

Georgia clearly blitzes more than we do, so I wonder if in fact we are in the same system, because they simply aren't just blitzing more and sending the same looks every time.

Correct. I haven't heard how his new contract is worded, but he couldn't get out of the one last year too easily. He loved working for Saban and wants (at least recently) to return.

On Dunbar who was asked about earlier, he did a good job, but the college grind combined with his health sent him back to the NFL which is much easier on him.

Aaaaaand the thing he was "dishonest" over was helping a player that was in a bind with a couple hundo.

The whole landscape has changed with NIL now that he's been gone what... 12 years?

There was one blitz that Steele called against MTSU that had me scratching my head. It worked, but my arsehole was puckered so tight you couldn't squeeze a hair thru it.

It was late in the first half, on our side of the 50. IIRC correctly, they were already in moderate FG range. In dime package (2 backers), we blitzed both backers at the snap, leaving the middle of the field WIDE ASS OPEN.

Ballsy-as-fook call, and it worked. But damn, I said "Holy shit, we wouldn't be able to get away with that with about half the SEC QBs on our schedule."

I had to rewind the play and show my fiancé... Lol.
