Bama’s system of calls was simplified some in the spring, which was needed. The biggest issue, by far, is the play of the defense front. If UGA had guys playing at the exact same level, they’d be having many of the same issues.
I think I said this to you already, but... if there isn't any improvement by the end of the season, it's time to depart from Coach Roach. I hope he gets them coached up, but the play up front has not been where its needed.Bama’s system of calls was simplified some in the spring, which was needed. Which begs the question: How are UGA's guys playing at a better level, since, in theory, they are no better?Bama’s system of calls was simplified some in the spring, which was needed. What’s the quality of the competition that UGA plays? If Alabama played UT Martin, UAB, Ball State, Vandy and even Georgia Tech (that’s almost half of their schedule), I’m sure you’d see better numbers.Which begs the question: How are UGA's guys playing at a better level, since, in theory, they are no better?
We don’t exactly play the cream of the cropWhat’s the quality of the competition that UGA plays? If Alabama played UT Martin, UAB, Ball State, Vandy and even Georgia Tech (that’s almost half of their schedule), I’m sure you’d see better numbers.
I would bet that our schedule the last few years has been a hell of a lot tougher than UGA's.We don’t exactly play the cream of the crop
It's the performance in important games where the differences are most apparent. What’s the quality of the competition that UGA plays? If Alabama played UT Martin, UAB, Ball State, Vandy and even Georgia Tech (that’s almost half of their schedule), I’m sure you’d see better numbers.
Can we at least get Chris Rumph back?I think at the very least he probably shifts spots or moves off the field. Barring something miraculous anyway.
Was just trying to make connections since Saban is friends with Garrett and has had him as a keynote speaker at several of his coaching clinics over the years. If that's the case I hope his friend is a schizophrenic who has delusions of knowing Nick Saban lol
Would love to get him back, but it's gonna be difficult to snag him away from the NFL. Same with Karl Dunbar. And I know Davis had to leave due to certain circumstances, but thats been a long time since then, don't see why we wouldn't try to get him. Plus, he wasn't punished by the NCAA, and didn't get some penalty if he were to return to Alabama. Can we at least get Chris Rumph back?
He's the best sheer D-line coaching talent we've had outside of Bo Davis. And we know we ain't touching Bo with a broken goal post.
The system isn't the problem, the execution of the system however, is. Georgia runs the exact same defense, terminology and all.... and they've been highly successful at running it. Basically, it comes down to coaching it, and players executing what they've been taught on a consistent basis. And could you be a little more specific? I'm just curious as to what you'd like to see Bama run defensively?

Last year: we blitzed from 100 yards away.Georgia clearly blitzes more than we do, so I wonder if in fact we are in the same system, because they simply aren't just blitzing more and sending the same looks every time.
Been mentioned several times in this group.![]()

Davis won't be back. He lied to Saban. I'm sure Saban would forgive and forget for Davis to come back.rolltidebama.com
Brandon and Terry has mentioned Bo Davis wanted to come back to bama, and has been in touch with Saban....
Aaaaaand the thing he was "dishonest" over was helping a player that was in a bind with a couple hundo.Would love to get him back, but it's gonna be difficult to snag him away from the NFL. There was one blitz that Steele called against MTSU that had me scratching my head. It worked, but my arsehole was puckered so tight you couldn't squeeze a hair thru it.Last year: we blitzed from 100 yards away.
This year; We do blitz, in fact we do plan to blitz more. it was terrible game plan against Texas.
God, I hope he comes back.Been mentioned several times in this group.![]()

Is that down to recruiting or coaching? I have no idea, but it's an important distinction. In some key areas they are better right now, like the DL.
