šŸˆ I wonder why Cam is not happy?

Yes--saying he would love to be with his old teammates with whom he spent many hours clearly means he's unhappy at Florida. I'd prefer to live in Hawaii with some of my family, but I'm still happy where I am.

Take a look at the recruiting talk about Cam. He scratched Auburn off his list the first time around because he thought Kodi Burns would win the starting job.

I think this is a case of you viewing the world through your Crimson and White glasses.

Didn't his father not want him to go to Mississippi State because he didn't want Cam to be used like a "work mule?"

I wonder what he thinks Auburn is using Cam like then?

Nice article by Schlabach.

Nothing crimson shaded about this

"If it was up to me, I would still want to be at Florida," Newton said

No question his heart is still with Florida. At the same time, I can't help but admire the man for the journey that he's been on and the fact that he has kept his chin up. Auburn has a good one for this season - and they better maximize it, b/c he is gone at the end of the year along with about 22 seniors from what I've read. Next year could be quite rough.

This question has bugged me and I guess this thread is the best to get some responses.

Do you think that there was more to Cam leaving Florida than what the public knows? With the way Meyer has dealt with previous problems on his teams, you would think that Newton would be their starting qb. Right now, Rainey is set to play this weekend I believe. It does make you scratch your head.

"I thought he fully explained why he said what he said. Missed his teammates, but it's obvious he likes Auburn. " per Schlabach's Twitter

"He wanted to finish what he started at Florida; he's not saying he doesn't want to be at Auburn." per Schlaback on Finebaum's waste of airspace

What a horrible person he is--he would prefer to still be where he committed previously along with his friends and fellow teammates that went through his recruitment with him.

"Sometimes you visit a place and you know you belong. I belong at Auburn." per Cam himself, ESPN spotlight before last week's game

You're right--he looks miserable.

I realize you guys are going to continue to try and refute anything I say, which is fine. However, what most people (including Schlabach) took from his quote is that he would prefer to finish what he started. If you read the full quote (it was published on a different site) he references it being harder to leave his friends--it sticks in my head because he said "most hardest thing I've had to do" and terrible grammar irritates the hell out of me. Most Auburn fans overreacted to the quote, most Alabama fans either didn't know/care about it or tried to extrapolate something that simply isn't there. The fact of the matter is that if Cam had truly wanted to stay at Florida, he would've. He wasn't kicked off the team, the charges were dropped--he had no reason to leave other than to find a better opportunity for playing time. He was a young man that made a stupid decision that has been twisted (i.e. he "stole" the laptop--he bougth a stolen laptop, huge difference) and blown up. What teenager hasn't done something stupid? Ask your sons if they've done something they could go to jail for. I bet you if they're honest with you more than half would say yes. I wish he hadn't said it because of stuff like this but I admire the guy's honesty. As it stands, he's the starting QB for the #4 team in the country and is a front-runner for the Heisman. Life could be much worse, ya know.

And BearFacts, yes I believe that was actually a direct quote (the "rented mule" thing). I don't think anyone guessed that Fannin would fumble every thing he touched (my God if we win a trophy don't let that kid hold it). On the called passing plays I think a lot of Cam's runs are him panicing because he's not comfortable in the offense yet. He's still missing WIDE open receivers and pulling the ball down to run. Some of his stats are a product of necessity, some are attributed to his need to learn the offense. Against Kentucky we did the same exact thing Bama did against Arkansas last year--run your best damn player to seal the game. Don't let the ball leave his hands. I may be wrong about it being Arkansas but I remember a game where most of the drive Ingram lined up in the Wildcat and ran damn near every play. Didn't that happen again this year? Anyway, I wish I had a witty response to your claim but his father did say that and he does run the ball entirely too much.

Cammy is gona be in for a long day tommow when the hat lets loose thier "Mustang Package" on defence.
Thier gona come after that kid like an addict chasses a crack dealer. lol
I think the hat, desipite how stupid he is, has figured out the one thing that everyone else in the SEC already knows.
Stop Newton and you stop the barn. No cam and they instantly become VANDY. lol

LSwho feels they have the horses in the secondary much like ours from last year, where they can lock up man to man and still play the run. They will test that #1 pass efficiency rating IMO.

The South Carolina game of last year is the one you were thinking of Duder. It was Greg's worst game, so in the 4th quarter we just lined up in the wildcat and ran Mark.

That's the one! I knew it was someone you guys played recently. All these games are starting to blur together--ah, the bliss of football season!

TJ Yates, who dropped 400 yds in the air on LSU, feels differently.

UNC 28/46 412 yds and 3 TDs
Mississippi State 10/18 166 yds--5 picks (I assure you, Cam won't be that generous)
Tennessee 12/23 121 yds
Florida 16/24 154 yds
McNeese State 15/32 118 yds and 1 TD

McNeese also ran for 101, State ran for 152. I think it is a safe assumption to say that Auburn has a better offense than the aforementioned schools. They gave up 24 to UNC's scout team, 14 to WVU and the worst Tennessee team in a decade at least and 29 to Florida. Even though some here have said Bama's defense has been less than stellar, they shut down UF.

Maybe they do have the firepower to shut us down. It seems their gameplan will be to plug the running lanes in the middle and force Cam to the outside where their......defensive backs?.....will be waiting. Peterson is an electrifying player but I'd put my money on Cam if they were running at each other one-on-one. They will most likely sell out against the run to stop Cam which will either open up the misdirection/outside runs or the passing game. I don't think Cam will run for 300 yards Saturday but he'll get his numbers, running and throwing. The formula to stopping Auburn has been relatively simple all year. It is clear that if you can limit Cam's space you'll be able to throw a kink in the offense. The difficult part is actually doing it. South Carolina had a stellar run defense coming into the the Auburn game, we hit em for more than 300 yards. Malzahn isn't going to continue running the same plays over and over again. Although, when we've run the QB draw with Cam running straight up the gut it has consistently gotten yards. The truth of the matter is when you have a 6'6" 250#+ QB that runsa 4.5, it's damn hard to plug everything.

Cam should have never said what he did. There is really no way to spin that to make it positive toward Auburn. It's one of those things he can think every day in the quiet of his home but just should have kept to himself.
