I think I'm weird here.

I sent the water company $700 today. I won't look at the water bill this coming year.
I sent Dominion $1500, I don't need to look at my electric until next Jan.

Paperless. Am I a fool?

I pay by the month, online, with Amex for everyone who takes it without a fee. Otherwise, another card, online each month. I auto pay the cell and internet, and pay by text with my little water/volunteer fire company. They send me by bill by text and reply ALL to pay it. It costs an extra two bucks but they get a cut of it.

My job is making electricity, so mines free. 😛.... That is a lie, but you wouldn't believe how many people believed since I work at a generating facility my light bill is free, I can tell you firsthand, it is not, or at least I never received the memo. Back on topic, mine is wireless set up monthly, paid through our bank account.

I would have to ask my wife. Dang, I would be lost as a goose without her.
I handle all of the finances, creating a dead file for my wife should I kick, planning to update it annually.

My wife just glazes over when I try to tell her about our household finances and investing, and although I told her we were in good shape to retire, she wasn't completely convinced. I'd never used a financial consultant or advisor, but three of our neighbors used the same guy, so about three years ago I paid him to do a retirement readiness review for us. He was thorough and covered some things I hadn't considered, and he was that independent third party to get in front of us and give my wife some information. Of course, after he'd done his work, his meeting was also to pitch us giving him our money to manage, which wasn't in the cards, but he confirmed we were in shape to retire, and it forced my wife to sit through the details of his projections.

No autopay here. As soon as I get it I pay it. I also paid them easily too. Like right now I'm about to pay the electricity and water. Trash is set up every 3 months.

I do auto-pay on everything (including cell, internet, insurance). I have the payment dates on my phone so I get the notification the day before that the payment will be made. I also get a text (and an email) from my bank when a charge/payment is made on the account. I also don't do paper statements. I usually get a small discount (usually something like $5 less per month) for going paperless, so I do that, too.

I pay monthly as the only thing that I can pay more than a month at a time is my insurance. Everything else is by the month, no other option that I'm aware of.

I don't have that. That 's nice.

You pay for trash?

Yes even if I go to the dump I still paid for it!
I do, as well. I can choose to not pay it and they'll come take back the can/container (each one has a serial number on it that's tied to your name/address). I can then take all my trash to the local dump. But it costs about $30 each trip. Now I could wait and go once a month and only pay that much once a month. Or I could pay considerably less for garbage pickup and they come get it once a week.

So that's fucked up. I paid $60 for my recycle bin. I can drive three miles and he dumps it on the street. Makes no sense. But, I live in Charleson. Nothing makes sense here.

Ya wanna talk about prop tax for a minute?

You know this just hit me. But back when I was going to West Germany (That was when I was stationed during my 2 years.) My wife and her sister and my brother-in-law, kids too. Took me to the Atlanta bus station to catch a bus that would take me to the bus station in Charleston. That I waited at for about 5-6 hours before taking a bus to the airport.

We don't do recycling here. There are some cities/towns/municipalities around here that do, but not ours. Also, those places charge extra for it, too. And the stupid thing is that most of the time, it all goes to the same place. The "recycling" doesn't go to a recycling place, it goes to the same dump that the "regular" garbage goes to. So they're paying extra for nothing. Even garbage collection is a scam.

We (Alabaster area) have to take our recycling stuff to a center right outside town. It's strictly...it's supposed to be strictly a recycling center.

Back to the question...How? Just cut a check and mail it. I'm too old school to pay for stuff online.
