🏈 Happy Thanksgiving!! From the staff here at RollTideBama to you and yours:

strawberry pretzel salad
I've never heard of that. A quick google search and I'm making some of that!!! I'm not much of a sweets eater but this looks very good! A glance at the ingredients and it appears it not very sweet--less than a cheese cake. Am I right?

Deep fried my first turkey last year, was nervous the whole damn time lol
When I was living in Tuscaloosa there was a guy who had season tickets to baseball which were right next to mine. He was a member of the Grand Slammers as well so we spent the VAST majority of the time outside the right field fence on the picnic tables (short walk to the SUV for another beer.)

He has deep fried Turkey's for years but does something I've not seen anyone else do when it comes to the spices. He's been injecting Dreamland's BBQ sauce since I've known him. It does sound odd when you first hear it--it did to me--but it's one hell of a flavor.

Exactly, just sweet enough and delicious. It's a combo you wouldn't normally think about that is really good.

Wayne, I'm headed to the grocery store as soon as I finish up a few things here at the house. I've got all the ingredients except Strawberry Jello. Heck, it's been so long since I've eaten Jello I couldn't begin to guess which aisle its on...I know exactly where a few slices will be after its finished!!!

Blue Voodoo and their Black Bean Chili. Dayum!

I'm trying to think of the name of that Italian restaurant I've eaten at in Easley...damn good pie.
Had to read that one twice... first pass I thought you said Ensley and I'm thinking, where in the hell can you get a good pizza in Ensley, unless you're robbing the pizza delivery person. Purl family going all out on Thanksgiving this year,,, got the Cracker Barrel deal going on. Traveling so much tomorrow, wife and SIL decided to go the CB route, which is fine by me, I just hope I can survive Walker and Winston counties in the same day . Saturday gonna be baby back ribs, tenderloin, sausage and a lot of all natural beverages...RTR to all and Happy Thanksgiving :-)

There are some great fishing lakes/ponds in the Upstate of SC. There's an expression at one I've been to a half of a dozen times or so; "if it's less than 30 lbs, it's a baby." We always make it a point to hit one of the eateries there. I'd compare it to a Mello Mushroom type of pie.

Ya know, the food there is good as long as it's take-out. Personally, I just don't like eating with so many damn people around. A booth is one thing but they tend to be hard to come by near here.

Oh yeah, ours is take out, we are actually eating at my SIL. CB has a thing where you order it and pick it up the day before, comes with the reheat instructions.

So, what are you folks planning on for the weekend? I'm hoping a lot of eating!!! If so, what's on the menu?

It's going to be football on the patio with beer and oysters or in the house with those cooking. I'll be outside all day...except when stepping in for another plateful, or two, or three...

We are going to my Grandmothers in Double Springs and hang out with family. She always does the traditional southern cooking. It should be a good time. Since I have to work Friday we will stay most of the day but come home so I can go to work.

Bit of a rant ...

About a month ago, maybe a week or two more, I noticed the local A+ Plus / Sunoco was already advertising Pumpkin flavored coffee. A week or two later the Dunkin Donuts just down the street started their Pumpkin flavors. It's October and I'm already tired of Pumpkin.

So, here we are in November...it's Thanksgiving Day and the idea of eating Pumpkin pie just isn't appealing. Hell, it's changed the way I look at sweet potatoes. Those are two dishes I used to eat this time of the year. Sparingly, but still eat.

/rant.

Neighbor, behind my house, sends a text an hour ago...I walk around to his house and he's prepping his garage...cleaning around the TV, etc. He turns it on and it happened to be on a local channel.

Female anchor: And once again the favorite dish among South Carolinians is pumpkin.
