🏈 Fall Scrimmage #2: Reports/Observations

bozeman would be inside only- center or guard as backup. Don't think he could play on the edge. When Dom left with injury- #58 was backup RT- his name escapes me..Greene??.
No lee at te. On d lee is very versatile and plays few different spots. Reggie and Reuben manned the middle most of the day with 1's. Lee will play outside and will see much playing time

Its hilarious how fast opinions change on the Qbs! I can't even imagine how the coaches feel... We have literally gone full circle in our speculations as to who will lead. I really like Bateman, has a very cool demeanor about him, but for my money Id say it's gonna be Morris.

It is odd. A-Day people raved about Bateman, he disappeared over the summer, then the first scrimmage I think it was, 25% said Bateman was amazing, but most said he was terrible. Now he's good gain. Either he's really up and down, or different people see way different things in him.

Again, only my opinion: The upside I continue to read regarding Morris is his understanding of the offense. It appeared to me today that Bateman also has a pretty good grasp of the offense. Morris' ability is very limited. In the limited sample size that is 1 scrimmage from today, Bateman looked comfortable in the pocket. Made very good decisions with the ball, was very accurate, and when flushed from the pocket, had excellent speed. Morris did have the "WOW" play of the scrimmage that was against the 1's on D- however, that play was a shotgun snap, 1 step drop and deep sideline throw. No read required. Bateman had the only sustained drive of any QB against the first team D. He is also the only QB that led team to TD in 2 minute drill- looked very composed and in command of the offense. I would argue that from what I saw on the field today, Bateman and Morris have equal understanding of the offense with Bateman's execution and athleticism far exceeding that of Morris. Again, 1 scrimmage. Don't know what type of locker room guy Bateman is/etc.

Reading through these posts and it appears that Coker had a terrible day. Listen to Saban's presser and he felt Coker was decent considering his limited practice this week. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder or just trying to throw people off?
