Again, only my opinion: The upside I continue to read regarding Morris is his understanding of the offense. It appeared to me today that Bateman also has a pretty good grasp of the offense. Morris' ability is very limited. In the limited sample size that is 1 scrimmage from today, Bateman looked comfortable in the pocket. Made very good decisions with the ball, was very accurate, and when flushed from the pocket, had excellent speed. Morris did have the "WOW" play of the scrimmage that was against the 1's on D- however, that play was a shotgun snap, 1 step drop and deep sideline throw. No read required. Bateman had the only sustained drive of any QB against the first team D. He is also the only QB that led team to TD in 2 minute drill- looked very composed and in command of the offense. I would argue that from what I saw on the field today, Bateman and Morris have equal understanding of the offense with Bateman's execution and athleticism far exceeding that of Morris. Again, 1 scrimmage. Don't know what type of locker room guy Bateman is/etc.
