The SEC league office has yet to release its weekly awards, so we'll get a jump and do our own. These are the ones that count anyway, and we'll do this every week with an offensive player, defensive player, special teams player and coach:

OFFENSE

Casey Dick, QB, Arkansas: Dick passed for two touchdowns and ran for two to almost single-handedly pull the Hogs out of the flames of what would have been an embarrassing loss to Western Illinois in Bobby Petrino's opener. Dick scored the game-winner on a 4-yard run with 1:49 to play. He finished with 318 passing yards, including a clutch throw on fourth-and-10 to keep the game-winning drive alive.

DEFENSE

Myron Pryor, DT, Kentucky: He forced one fumble that was returned 28 yards for a touchdown in Kentucky's 27-2 defensive masterpiece over Louisville, and the 300-pound Pryor also picked up a fumble and lumbered 78 yards for a touchdown himself. If you haven't already noticed, the Wildcats have a dandy pair of tackles in Pryor and Corey Peters.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Brandon James, Florida: The guy just keeps adding to his legend as a return specialist and is also getting some snaps on offense this season. He had a dazzling 74-yard punt return for a touchdown in the 56-10 win over Hawaii.

COACH

Nick Saban, Alabama: Who says coaching is overrated? Obviously, that person hasn't seen much of this Alabama team. Saban has the Crimson Tide focused, playing as a team, playing physically and buying in totally to what he's preaching. Just ask Clemson.

I think ESPN is trying to be funny... :D :D :D :D :D
We are starting to get respect! Give this guy a raise!
