šŸˆ DeBoer's future at Alabama and the most likely path ahead (from my perspective)...

Bama is already behind with the NIL $$ and having to pay a huge buy out would be worse than NCAA sanctions. I know how bad Saturday was but hope to see this thing much closer to the pre season reports.. If not I am more with @BamaFan334 on this, invest that money in great talent until we can afford to move on.

All I ask for is consistency in how we play. If he can't deliver that, then imo.... I don't see a him here in the near future.

Also, let's just assume we did get rid of him. That wouldn't affect our NIL like some people think. Those funds are strictly for NIL, we'd pull the money from other resources to pay this off. I get people see that figure and are immediately scared of what that could do, but I promise y'all, it wouldn't be as bad as some on here think.

Still, all I want is for him to turn this around and show us he can field a team that can sustain a high level of play consistently. We'll never be a playoff team if we can't do that. Let's see if he can get it done, God please get it done.

I’ve always known this fan base automatically goes to the world is ending and the sky is falling, but the shit I’ve seen since Saturday is on the verge of being idiotic. One game and we’re talking about firing a HC in his SECOND year. We could see what hurt us last year and against FSU in Saban’s last two years, yes we only lost two games both those years, but you could see it. I said the other day and still believe we’re in need of a culture change, winning can breed arrogance and when you’re winning as much we have sometimes you may not work as hard then add in NIL and culture changes don’t happen quick. I also think one thing people are forgetting is yes DeBoer is coming into a much better situation name brand wise, facilities, etc, but over 30 players transferred prior to him coaching one day, that isn’t easy. Replacing the greatest head coach of all time isn’t easy and it takes time, different sport, but look at UNC basketball, Roy Williams retired and they’re still trying to find their footing. I don’t buy into the silly ā€œhe was a PAC 12 coach not SECā€ narrative, a good coach is a good coach and he wouldn’t have been hired if he wasn’t a damn good coach, I don’t care where the coach is from.

Let’s go with the ā€œget rid of DeBoerā€ thing- who the hell do people think we’re going to hire that is going to magically turn this around with no players? Because like with Saban we fire CKD players are going to transfer, so you add the over 30 that left after Saban retired then add the ones that’ll leave after CKD and you think it’s rough now we’ll be back in the real hard times.

I almost completely agree with you. All this stupid crap on the socials with Tommy Rees being the 3-1 favorite to replace Deboer and all that other stuff is ridiculous. I get though...We waited eight+ months after the Michigan game to see...the same. Not good.

Not this upcoming Sunday, but the following; the 14th. It'll mark 34 years since Bama lost by 35 in a road game in Florida. Dollars to donuts you said the same thing the following week.

All I'm saying here? One week doesn't always tell a story of a season. That weekend in Gainesville was compared to the previous season. And geez...was that comparison wrong.

An UGLY loss that served as a turn-around during a season has happened twice in my lifetime. As I told someone two days ago, fans used to habitually wait until the fourth game (Arkansas seemed the annual team then) before making a decision on a team. UGA seems like a very clear starting point.

Maybe we will be as wrong this year after game 4, as we were after game 4 last year. The back 9 was a doozy after Georgia.

Unfortunately very little of what he had to say was applicable to today’s game. He can’t say that out loud, of course, because he’s now in the business of promoting the game.
Nah! It’s still very much applicable! It is, Will these COVID kids buy into it? I say COVID kids because they grew so anccus to social media being their provider at that impressionable age 13-15. They depended on social media for interactions during the shutdown.
Each play lasts on average 4-6 seconds. Give your best effort each and every snap you are on the field to ā€œwin that playā€. If all 11 on that side of the ball will do their job to the best of their ability, winning will take care of itself. The STANDARD is to strive to be perfect each and every play with 100% effort and mental toughness. Will it happen with this group? Remains to be seen!
