| LIFE CV-19: Effects on life, work, and sports

It was stated here, 2/1 - 4/25.

.....

Our counts often track 1–2 weeks behind other data for a number of reasons: Death certificates take time to be completed. There are many steps involved in completing and submitting a death certificate. Waiting for test results can create additional delays. States report at different rates. Currently, 63% of all U.S. deaths are reported within 10 days of the date of death, but there is significant variation among jurisdictions. It takes extra time to code COVID-19 deaths. While 80% of deaths are electronically processed and coded by NCHS within minutes, most deaths from COVID-19 must be coded manually, which takes an average of 7 days. Other reporting systems use different definitions or methods for counting deaths.

Provisional counts are not final and are subject to change.
Counts from previous weeks are continually revised as additional records are received and processed. Provisional data are not yet complete. Counts will not include all deaths that occurred during a given time period, especially for more recent periods.

There is a lot of people sharing the provisional numbers either not understanding it or knowing it and purposely trying to misrepresent the facts. If they were acting in good faith they would also include this link: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the U.S.

Those are the numbers that are tallied from each health department.

People pull the numbers they find that aligns with their narrative.

For me I have said the heck with all of this and what news organizations and politicians are reporting and I try and find multiple raw data reports. I try and correlate these to form my own conclusion or at least the general trends because none of data matches perfectly. Throw on top of that that states do not report the numbers the same way and with the same timing.

Part of the reason I post the links to the data.

Thread title: ...it's effect on ... life in general.

Yesterday. Cinco De Mayo. At least outside dining is open, right? It fell on a Tuesday as well, Taco Tuesday.

So, where normally Taco Tuesday's are eat in only, .50 a piece, the jokers were three for six bucks yesterday.

I just drank beer.

"So I had to attend a work meeting today discussing the steps the state is requiring to get restaurants and bars to reopen. Changes in service, etc.
And I’ve had a really rough few days... weeks. Well, yeah. All of it. But especially recently.
And everyone was just... bleh. Right as I walked in.
But seeing the whole staff like that, I did the only logical thing when I walked in and said:
“I’ve not been sexually harassed by any of you in like two months, so someone grab a handful of my asshole before I cry.”
I’ve never had so many hands on my ass at once. It was beautiful.
I think it created a more relaxed tone for the meeting (you’re welcome team), and gave everyone a much needed jolt.
Mission accomplished."

Well, there goes that hoarded surplus of toilet paper. :p

There's still the question of died with and died from.

That is a tricky question also. Nobody ever dies of AIDS, it is always pneumonia or something else. Right now figuring out Covid-19 caused what actually killed them is more difficult since we don't know exactly everything it can cause. But, there have been multiple cases where Covid-19 was listed as a contributing cause and the person died from something it could not and did not cause.

Its obvious that it is not used by many or there wouldn't be so many deaths.

Almost 70% of those 65 and older surveyed get at least one shot (there are two, one protects against 13 different bacteria and the other against 23 more).

Thing is, there are tons different causes of pneumonia (viral and bacterial) and the vaccine only covers the most common ones.

Kid you not here...two fingers of meat in their Taco's on Tuesday's...the works for .50 is a freakin' deal. He uses a 90/10 mix...homemade spices for the flavor.

Still. Two bucks a piece. Hard no.
We have a place about a mile from work that does a Taco Thursday....homemade tortillas and the works(skirt steak, chicken or pulled pork) and breakfast burritos in the a.m. that will make you slap somebody :) ..... good stuff, but definitely a good colon cleansing.:p

In 2017 (per the WHO) pneumonia accounted for 808,694 deaths in 2017 for children under 5.

Here's a good laugh... The City of Denver has come up with a mandatory mask order, I assume, to try and keep everyone as safe as possible... Valiant idea, right?!

Well it goes into effect today, despite being advertised for about a week. Why today you ask?!

Well we wouldn't want to ruin Cinco De Mayo by keeping everyone as safe as possible.... :ROFLMAO:

You can accuse the mayor of a lot of things.... But being a racist can't be one! He wasn't about to rock that boat - To keep everyone as safe as possible.

Can't make this stuff up anymore. 2020

Ok I am guilty as charged but just look at the numbers in depth. We need a pneumonia vaccine. Most of the media is not reporting the numbers of other illness vs Corona.

Pneumonia is not something that easily spread, a lot of forms of it aren't contagious at all. Not a very fair comparison in that sense. Especially considering there already is vaccines, like has been said.

Outside dining is still prohibited here, at least as far as restaurants go. I've never celebrated Cinco de Mayo though so it didn't effect me lol

Sidenote, the Lt. Gov. has laid out his plan for reopening schools that would see campuses open up for a modified form of summer workouts for athletes on June 6. It would have been groups of 10 athletes or less working with coaches at first and then in July normal summer workouts and August fall camp. Im wondering how closely (if at all) the SEC, Sun Belt, etc. will adopt similar plans.
