The Department of Justice announced today that the Chair of Harvard University’s Chemistry and Chemical Biology Department and two Chinese nationals have been charged in connection with aiding the People’s Republic of China.

I personally think Bill Barr is a puppet and a scumbag but he should be applauded for making clear that people that are hoarding medical supplies to this level will be prosecuted. Now if only actual corrupt people in the govt. would be prosecuted.

$100,000,000 to Nasa, because, who knows why.
$20,000,000,000 to the USPS, because why the hell not
$300,000,000 to the Endowment for the Arts / because fuck it
$300,000,000 for the Endowment for the Humanities/ because no one even knew that was a thing
$15,000,000 for Veterans Employment Training / for when the GI Bill isn't enough
$435,000,000 for mental health support / thats a lot of fucking suicide hotlines
$30,000,000,000 for the Department of Education stabilization fund/ because that will keep people employed
$200,000,000 to Safe Schools Emergency Response to Violence Program
$300,000,000 to Public Broadcasting / NPR has to be bought by the dems
$500,000,000 to Museums and Libraries / Who the hell knows how we are going to use it
$720,000,000 to Social Security Admin / but get this only 200,000,000 is to help people. The rest is for admin costs

I wouldn't put it past any political to bloat something like this for their own benefit but I am def. calling bullshit on a lot of this. The only page numbers that are provided are pretty much all bullshit. Pg. 147 says absolutely not one wort about "Migrant and Refugee Assistance." In fact, I did a word search on "migrant" and the word appears ONCE in the entire bill, $10,000,000 "for Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers, including for emergency supportive services to farmworkers, of which $500,000 shall be available for the collection and dissemination of elec tronic and printed materials related to coronavirus: Provided, That such amount is designated by the Congress as being for an emergency requirement pursuant to sec13 tion 251(b)(2)(A)(i) of the Balanced Budget and Emer14 gency Deficit Control Act of 1985."

So, I dont know if this person is looking at a different bill than me but I even searched the number "$25,000,000" and it does appear on 136 but there isn't a single word about cleaning supplies. "For an additional amount for "salaries and expenses," $25,000,000, to remain available until September 30, 2021, except that $5,000,000 shall remain available until expended, for necessary expenses of the House of Representatives to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus, to be allocated in accordance with a spend plan submitted to the Committee on Appropriations of the House of Representatives by the Chief Administrative Officer and approved by such Committee: Provided, that such amount is designated by the Congress as being for an emergency requirement pursuant to section 251(b)(2)(A)(i) of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985." That's the wording...

I've tried to read this shit but this is the problem with all these damn bills. The shit is 1,000 pages and if it's something the Democrats have offered you're going to have people like the person you're quoting that probably has some legit unnecessary or stupid shit in but he also bolsters with shit that is going to piss people off knowing very few people (if anyone) is going to actually read it and catch him lying. And if Republicans produce a bill the same is going to happen on the other side. There has to be an easier, more simple way of doing this shit.

While I don't agree with it I understand the notion of the relief bill. Much like the bailout required a lot of money to jump start some things a lot of money could help stem the downward turn we're seeing.

Now, adding funding for personal political views to a relief package like Pelosi has done? A 25 million dollar add-on to the relief package for more money for the House members? That 35mm for the JFK center is going to help a lot of folks, eh? That's a scumbag move.

I would too but the problem is getting someone that knows law and will be fair about reporting it rather than putting his or her spin on it or blatantly make things up knowing that very few people a) have the patience to read a 1,000-page bill and b) could decipher some of the language in it. Im sure theres some law/policy reporters out there that are doing just that, at least hopefully.

The sad part is that the only way certain things will get done is trying tack them in on bills like this. It would make our heads spin to truly sit down and see all the bullshit that gets tacked on to different bills. That's why I fear that it's def. not just these little progressive things that the Democrats are trying to sneak in and the Republicans are sneaking things in and going "SEE! THE DEMS DONT WANT US TO PASS THIS BILL!!!! HURRY HURRY ATTACK THEM!" so it can pushed through without anyone truly paying attention. I'm already seeing it all over Facbeook and Twitter. One of the many reasons our system is very broken.
