| LIFE CV-19: Effects on life, work, and sports

UConn is independent in football (at least this season they were going to be). It is almost inevitable that they would have to cancel with most conferences going with only one or even no non-conference games this year.

Umm, is this f'ing legal?

It'll get a quick court challenge if they follow through. Some municipalities have tried to use utilities as a lever to collect other fees and penalties.

If the water's cut off, it reminds me of a little road house I stayed in for a few days in Port Clinton, PA when I was on a hiking trip. The owner had an old sign in the bar bathroom, "in this land of clouds and sun, we don't flush for number one".

I guess they'll have to conserve.

Been a lot of constitutional rights forfeited through this pandemic. Mayors and Governors have overreached their authority. Hopefully this will be corrected when the dust settles or the next election occurs. Then again since this is 2020 the elections may make it worse smh.

A friend is a kindergarten teacher back in Texas. K-12 will be on campus at this district, teachers are already prepping.

And of course parents are already prepping. Understand that many parents are taking photos or teachers not wearing their masks and reporting them. This is happening during working and non working hours.

Parents really annoy me. No way I could ever be a teacher.

Ours went back today. We sent masks with them, but urged them not to use them if they felt uncomfortable and to never feel pressured into wearing one. All of my kids are young, so learning to look someone in the eye, see their mouth move, and taking in the interaction is key to their development. Hard to do that scattered around a classroom with everyone bundled up like a damn Eskimo baby.

We used to have a member here who would get his panties in a wad over someone posting a link from his hated Faux News. I personally don't watch them, but this is complete nonsense. If law-abiding citizens have to wear masks...California.

But, just to make sure we're clear here, they came back to campus to protest coming back to campus?

90% of the time these folks are just looking for something to protest. Doesn't matter what or if it even makes sense, just gotta protest. They want to make their mark in history just like the hippies and the Civil Rights protestors.

Parents are what really piss me off about being a teacher! I have had kids cuss me, the office call the parents, and then the parents meet with the principal and me and ACTUALLY ask me what I did to make their child cuss!! Are you shitting me? I’ve had others accuse me of using the N word when I have actually told their child “we aren’t going to use the N word in my class! What you may say at home is between you and your parents!” I’m sure @alabama mike can give you plenty of more stories about crazy ass parents! I have a bunch of stories about parents from my time coaching as well.

Its the idiot parents, boyfriend, girlfriend, grandparent or live in. Did I cover everyone? We have almost 100 cameras all over our building except the restroom and classroom. I can watch the video from the camera and tell the parent I have video evidence and they will still not believe their sweet child did anything wrong. Like @UAgrad93 said, kids will cuss you, a teacher, custodian, bus driver or fellow student and its rarely the students fault. The school almost always gets the blame. Some days I go home and my nerves are shot from stupidity! I am so thankful for the parents that support the school and teachers.
