Miami is in.
SMU is in win or lose
Clemson has to win to be in.

Name recognition may help, but I don’t think Bama gets in. I would love for them to get in, but I seriously doubt it.

Needed Indiana, and ucheat to lose I think.
Whomever wins the big 12 championship will be the 12th seed.
 
Coach Saban and Mark Ingram both said Bama shouldn't make the playoff. I would love to see Bama in the first even playoff, but Bama dug a very deep hole to try and climb out of!

I just don't see value in Miami. Two losses to unranked teams, and the kicker being no wins against ranked teams. How can you reward that?

This I know.

You see people referring back to how the committee has made their decisions in the past. When it was four, or two teams; never 12.

I see A LOT of teams with ugly losses. I see few with really good wins.

In my opinion, if this goes like it has in the past, we'll hear "game control" and "quality wins."

This isn't a four team playoff.

Bama over Miami? Yeah.
 
This next weekend is a great example of why I've complained about this new set-up.

We're looking at a team outside of the P4 getting a bye. Those teams, outside of the P4 conferences, when facing a team from the P4...haven't won one percent of their games this season. Less than one percent.

BUT, let's give them a seat ... preference.

Yeah, it's a tough argument comparing losses. I just try and look at the wins and strength of schedule. The South Carolina and Georgia wins still look good for us. Here's the crazy part, LSU beating the brakes off Oklahoma. And we beat the brakes off LSU, unreal.

They can enjoy that seat for now, and next year. Then they can kick rocks (if it screws an SEC team out of a spot).

If Bama is left out, yes, they have themselves to blame. But under this new, stupid, system, 12 teams have to make it. By pretty much any measure you choose to use, Alabama would be one of the best 12 teams (and most deserving based on their schedule). Miami for instance, shouldn't be rewarded for a shit schedule. They can't help their ACC schedule, and they probably didn't figure Florida would be all out of sorts to open the season, but if you're going to play a schedule like that, you better at least get to your conference championship game. Then, losing 2 of their final 3 (again, to unranked teams)? I know there is a thought that they will slot just ahead of Alabama on Tuesday night, but I don't see it. And again, Sankey (for all his faults) looms large in the minds of the CFP powers that be.

Oh I know we had better wins but we did lose to two .500 teams that were embarassing losses. Not going to bemoan not making it because we did not .control what we could have and should have controlled. My mindselt if you lose to Vandy you forfeit all rights to anything. I know we want to prop them up but they are still a .500 team. Better compared to Vandy standards but still not very good.
