And I’d add accuracy to those. Milroe’s 65% isn’t awful (35th in the country), but a few of Williams big yardage catches were not good throws at all. He made circus catches to pull them in. Games like the UT game where he was targeted 19 times and had 8 grabs. Those 11 incompletions were more on Milroe than Williams. Ryan could have hauled in another couple, but most of those misses were not good throws or decisions.
It's easy to look at the stats and not really know what's the context behind bad throws until you go back and look at the films.

Most everyone forgot about little ole Oklahoma last week… It was all just a show up game.. People were pre ordering tickets and T shirts for the playoffs.. ( in their minds)..Just saying… We are a very injured team… This game will most likely be a nail biter… A nail biter will not deliver us the top 12… Maybe a blowout might..

Who forgot about little Oklahoma?
Who were ordering tickets and t-shirts for playoff? Usually they don't release playoff shirt until the final ranking.
We are very injured team? Did you get hurt or something?

We lost A lot of big time leader type players due to injury..That matters a lot.. them being cheerleaders on the sidelines and being in their game is two different things..
I said “in their minds”… a lot of guys acted like ithe game was already won before it had been played..
And finally the team that showed up last week appeared to have been at an orgy all week… They sure as hell better not do that this week..
  • LB Deontae Lawson (Out)
  • DB Keon Sabb (Out)
  • WR Cole Adams (Out)

So, the final argument here is the playoff invitations should be based on record instead of resume. :devilish:
@TerryP I do not think we deserve a spot in the playoffs period. We are one team at home and a completely different team on the road. CKD needs time to assess his coaches that he had to hire quickly and make changes where he thinks it is necessary. He also needs to decide what players he will offer NIL money and those he will not. The man was put in a very difficult situation but I do believe with all my heart, he is the right man for the job.

I thought Yea Alabama and Morgan handles that part, I mean after all he is the "GM"

That's what I worry about the most. I noticed his demeanor has changed in recent weeks and He don't seem to be the same guy mentally and emotionally since UGA game. Something happened and its' affecting him. I think all the negative things beign said about him the last few weeks has been brutal and I think he's noticing it. I've noticed he's not doing much interviews, or promoting anything lately. SO he needs to win tomorrow, and play within the system and give up the ball on almost all zone read. They're expecting to see him keep the ball.. so hopefully he understands that. We'll know more about where he is on first two drive....

This goes hand in hand to what we didn't agree on when it came to NIL and the lack of focus I felt it created. These guys spent SO much time building their brand and chasing the dollar they did not put in the time to be great. Milroe by every metric should have won the Heisman and led his team to a Top 5 finish. He spent all that time cheesing for the cameras, touting LANK, doing commercials, and now seemingly is failing at the one thing he made all that money and attention for, football. He cannot mentally handle it all, which is now evident. NIL has had a very real and negative affect on Milroe.

All that being said, it ain't just him. College football as a whole is down when it comes to talent. A few have stood out and the media makes their annual push towards a couple guys, but as a whole, no real superstars in the game.

I don’t see how we would get in the playoffs and we shouldn’t. I believe the 21 point loss to a 6-6 team is more than enough to put other teams ahead of us. 5 spots will be taken by conf champs, 2 more (at least) by conf championship game losers. Then the group of 5 or whatever team. Then Notre Dame. That leaves what, 3 spots? UT will get one, Ohio State will get one. They’ll pick a 3 loss SEC team over an 11-1 big 10 Indiana team? No way.

Maybe you’re right. Maybe we should just turn it town if they invite us because we have three losses.

That’s the right thing to do anyway.

My math may not be mathing, but what I’m looking at looks like we would be the next team up - those three losses were already taken into account last week (May need to double check me on that one though).

Miami should drop out. Loser of SMU/Clemson should drop out. Would be more clear cut if SMU beat Clemson of course.
