I think it's still possible to get it, but unlikely. I think they won't punish SMU for losing. Really, I don't think them or Clemson should be in. Neither team beat anyone of substance. Heck, we beat two teams that beat Clemson.
That was counter to the crap McDonough and McElroy were saying which leads me to,......

They showed their hand a bit last week when they didn't have Louisville ranked. It would have been pretty easy to slot them in at 24 or 25 and give SMU a win over a current ranked team, allowing a bit of cover for them. Not doing so, I think sent the message that it was win or you're out for them vs. Clemson. Now, I'm not sure they anticipated that type of close game, but they probably should have, and it really shouldn't matter much anyway. A loss is a loss in the end... And while it's a different format, they showed last year that they'd even drop a regular season undefeated SEC team out after a 3 point conference title game loss, when UGA fell to Bama. I'm still a bit iffy on they they'll end up doing tomorrow, but I feel confident in saying Bama has a shot still. In fact, I'd probably be more nervous if I was an SMU fan right now.
He can get really annoying, really fast. Roman Harper should have his job on the radio and in the booth.

For a few teams, things have changed. For Bama, maybe seeding, but I don't see a difference in this morning and what I thought yesterday, or Friday, morning.
Several of the things people yell about ruining the sport seemingly don't exist any longer when they think about decisions made about the sport. To put it mildly, a lot wouldn't be singing a duet with Eric Idle.
In or out; it's a win/win either way.

They knew the 12 game would never be enough.. Look at the bitching and complaining from the ADs, coaches and fans… So they will eventually keep expanding the playoffs to appease as much as possible…Not to mention it will make more money..

No matter who you present, they aren't going to carry enough weight or offer enough value for ESPN to change their contract.
Committee listening to fans. Yeah, that qualifies as asinine.
Committee listening to coaches. Again, qualifies.
The AD at SMU influencing the opinion of the committee. That not only qualifies, but leads the list of...no.
I said this yesterday. The very things you bitch about (money influencing decisions) is something you choose to forget in conversations like this one. Qualification #4.

What were we told....that we would have some games that.....were "wn or go home" &
Where best players didnt sit out....
Sure gonna be some....large margins....but watch for some really competitive games that matter
And as far as sec...how many ( all that i watched) ...where the analysis was...."ole ms could win this whole thing" and i think ( doesn't matter i know) ...was better team than bama .... but bama brand had them rated higher ( and vs smu...have to hope it holds)

They are going to have to do something… Because a lot of these bowl games will become meaningless to a lot of these bigger schools…A lot of op outs and just uninspired showings..
