I'm of the same mindset, if Miami is dropped for two losses, so should SMU. The differenc between them and a potential Georgia loss was Georgia was tested all year and SMU wasn't, so this game should mean something in that regard.
I kept hearing..."they should not be punished for playing in game"...
Well...it was a game vs their most competitive opponent...which was still just a mediocre opponent ....and they lost.

Yep...why would it be any different than miami....

I was surprised...uga didnt look better...Beck just wasn't a top tier QB....but the uga D was darn good...and Texas couldn't stop killing themselves with penalties...
Dont see either winning it all...

Boot Texas for all I care, ha ha. Who have they beat?

Just as an update:

  • The committee isn't going to penalize a team for losing a game in a conference championship.
  • The committee isn't going to penalize a team for their strength of schedule.
  • The committee is going to value a weaker strength of record versus one that's stronger.
As long as I'm up to date.

As I said yesterday.

In / out? Win / win.

I dont know about that
Could be but

Bama brand is strong.

Plus sec vs big 10. That's tempting
I've been saying this for awhile. Brandon has been saying the same thing. I noticed Peter Burns make the same comment this morning.

IF they choose to only take three SEC teams, and the B1G gets four, you can expect this playoff design to be blown to hell, back, and then to hell again.

That's why I say it's a win/win. IF they are in, win. IF they aren't, and it gets blown up, win.

The only difference we'll see (future) is how badly it's blown up in a year after next.

Why do u think bama was over ole ms.
Looking at the 2.
But may be right. Sec vs big 10. Tempting

That's a good question. And it fits with the discussion today.

While people are focusing on "two losses to Vandy and OU," there are a lot more to these stories.

When Manuel went down last year at FSU no one trusted their offense. It was evident when you saw how "lack luster" they were finishing the season. The committee didn't trust the 'Noles.

So, I'm gonna flip this question. Why should the committee trust Lane?

Their record is a knock.
Their offense and defenses are pluses.

With no evidence to suggest such, I am of the opinion that Kiffin does more to hurt Ole Miss than the football team (in the eyes of the committee.)

One last point and I'm off to watch Landman and start marinating a few steaks.

This isn't about Bama.

This is about the SEC.

Landman has been really good and solid so far, though Sheridan continues to be weak when it comes to adding some cheap/slutty/fowl mouthed woman to everything he does. Not saying it's not a reality in circles out there, but if he's writing you can bet that character is in it.

What is Vegas saying this morning about our odds?

You nailed it here. It is reality.

You can see the military influence in his writing with Lioness. You can see Texas in his writing with Yellowstone.

Take the Beth character. It shouldn't take anyone more than a minute to see if that character was real, that's who she is. I literally know someone like her. I trust her with anything. Sweet lady. I see her a couple of times a month. I have seen her pissed off a few times. I've seen her beat the hell out of a few guys. And she...at least an 8.

No clue. The odds changed every hour last year.

She mad at you and beat you up? Ha ha.

My only hang up with Beth is they try and make everything she says as a mic-drop, a walk off, or something you could put on a t-shirt, so that gets old to me.

If Bama doesn't get in, I would never schedule a power 4 out of conference game again. What's the point? Schedule as man easy wins as possible.

The playoff criteria is about to change (again)... it's just a question of how much. But when the smoke clears, a lot of this stuff that rewards lesser conferences and their lesser schedules will be 86'd. It might even involve doing away with the committee altogether.
