Information here is very difficult to come by, as you know, and I don't have much more to add. This deal was close earlier today, though I made it clear that Kelly's sense of loyalty to Fisher/FSU was a potential stumbling block. I sense that Kelly couldn't get past it.

It's a crazy business and things can change ($1 to Dameyune Craig in 2012), but this is how I see things standing as we approach midnight in the central time zone. Percentage dropping*, red arrow down."

FSU moderators of one of the pay sites reported last night that Kelly had turned down Auburn for the second time.

** In today's world of these stupid online petitions I have to ask myself. Would I sign one supporting Lance for AU's DC?

Raita (local talking head) quoted a pretty interesting stat the other night. 95/128 current D1 coaches did not recruit their redshirt seniors.

Sounds like Charles Kelly to Auburn as the DC might not happen. Kinda interesting that you can't even get your own alum/ex-player to come on-board.

I have spoken with three FBS assistants this week, all of them outside the SEC, and they all said Auburn is considered a "high-risk" situation right now with Malzahn on thin ice and the perception that Auburn is headed for another meltdown.

I'm skeptical of that myself, but that's what people are seeing from the outside.

Not so fast my friend. Not that Mizzou is really in the SEC, but their new coach is at 2.35M per year..............so that means Gus/AU is on par with Mizzou.

Quick update in case any of you guys missed this ...

Kirby has hired Jim Chaney as his offensive coordinator. It really doesn't make sense to me. What has Kirby seen in Chaney over the last few years that makes him think he's the right guy for the UGA OC job?
