I'm certainly not advocating for them to join, just drawing out what it would entail. The Big Ten and the SEC are only going to increase in size. The Big 12 money brokers may keep that league cobbled together, or they could get raided. I think the ACC gets raided, for sure. SMU paid their way into the ACC, pursuing a similar strategy to TT, but they faltered this year, but I think it'll yet be interesting.
Strength of schedule matters, as ND has found out. Bama's foresight to move from neutral site games to homes and aways was very wise.
