I think the NFL is already regretting their brand new anthem policy. To unilaterally put out a mandate without going through the player's union is a recipe for failure. And then telling grown men to go stand in the shower instead of standing up for their convictions on something this volatile and personal was never going to have a happy ending.

One move Obama made was legislation to roll back on private prisons. Jeff Sessions killed that. (He's a true idiot when it comes to his stance on the legalization of cannabinoids.)

If you've watched OITNB that's a story about a state institution going private. It's fictional, of course, but does address some salient points that are true in real private facilities.

I was actually thinking about that when I mentioned OITNB. I kept coming back to Oz knowing that wasn't right.

I believe I saw it on YouTube, or maybe Tubi. It wasn't Netflix...that, I know (not saying it wasn't there.) Hulu may have it now as well.

But there is no denying they make their money (profit) when their head count reaches a certain number. They are lobbying congressional members and it is in their best interest to see the federal laws remain as they are.

If you're a supporter of Sessions the term idiot fits because his stance(s) are empowering those who are in support of decriminalization.

The narrative he's pushing about questioning the medicinal benefits is ludicrous. In this narrative it's their suggestion that the recreational users are the driving force behind decriminalization despite the multitudes of doctors, patients, et. al. who can prove its benefits.

Death penalty for people who are convicted of trafficking marijuana? Seriously?

What really gets me is the notion that the legalization of one won't reduce the abuse of opioids. Once again, the facts dispute such.

As to Clay's suggestion--which I firmly believe was tongue in cheek--would you be surprised if some in the NFL agreed with him? Personally, I wouldn't.

I despise what lobbying has become. Have a few family members that are powerful DC lobbyist. I also don't agree that our political leaders can leave office and make millions selling their stories and giving speeches.

Our government mismanages many many areas it's responsible for. I see why privatization of prisons would be a good idea, but I can also see the negatives with it.

This whole anthem mess is a cluster. As I've said before, I don't agree with how it's being handled by the players or the NFL.
