šŸˆ Bronko Nagurski Award

Looks like we have two guys in the final five for the Nagurski award this year, for the nations best defensive player. But don't get your hopes up, A 'Bama player has never taken home the trophy. We've likely had the most candidates make the final five over the past 10 years as we have a representative at the dinner ceremony most every year. Really proud as heck to have Foster and Allen coming this year! But it's a shame that in 23 years of the trophy, no Alabama player has won it. We've sent many a stud to this ceremony. Heck, only two SEC players have won the award. Look at how many great SEC defensive players have come through over the past 23 years, and how many NFL rookie defensive player of the years came though. No surprise that the ACC has nine past winners and two of the candidates again this year. It is the Charlotte Touchdown Club... Look for the Clemson or FSU player to win.

I honestly don't think you will find a more dominant player in the country than Jonathan Allen. I said it last year, and he has only continued to prove me right this year. All the hubbub over Mile Garrett when there was a guy in his own division and conference outperforming him on a weekly basis. He will win the award and crown another first for Alabama like Ingram did. We'll get the Trump protestors on their tail if he doesn't, they have nothing else better to do.

On the other side, I could not be more proud of Reuben Foster and the player he has become. I'm talking night and day difference from when he showed up. He looked to lay the wood every chance he could and would whiff half the time with his head down and get stingers. Now this guy can cover anywhere on the field, get a rush, knock your d in the dirt, and handle anyone coming into his space whether it's a lineman, running back, tight end, or receiver. It's been a pleasure watching him grow. His mentality has won over recruits and I can only hope there is another "savage" in line waiting (Mack Wilson?) to unleash their potential and leadership like he has. He could easily win this thing too, as he can do it all and will likely be a Top 10 pick like Allen.
