UGA football player arrested, facing multiple charges
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A University of Georgia player is facing charges after getting arrested Sunday, jail records show.
According to Jackson County Jail records, Nyier Daniels faces four felony counts, including fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, affixing materials that reduce or increase light transmission/reflectance of window, and two counts of second degree cruelty to children.
Additional misdemeanor charges include reckless driving, exceeding maximum limits, two stop-sign and yield-sign violations, no-passing-zone infractions and more.
“We are aware of the charges and are currently in the process of gathering additional information,” a statement from UGA read. “This is a pending legal matter and we will not have further comment at this time.”
Daniels is a redshirt freshman offensive lineman and was a 4-star at Bergen Catholic before coming to UGA. This is the latest of vehicle-related arrests involving Bulldogs players over the past several years.
