OU has played some good ball thus far and they'll ride in with some top end starters, specifically, twin brothers Kyson and Malachi Witherspoon. Kyson (5-1, 1.80 ERA), the higher rated prospect, will get the start tonight. He is slated to be one of the top pitchers taken in the draft this year. His brother (who is 2-1, with a 5.13 ERA), won't be too far behind though. Both are hard throwing righties with good stuff. For Bama, Riley Quick's status (blister) is still up in the air, but he may start on Sunday... seems to be 50/50 right now. Alcock is sliding up to the Saturday slot. There will be plenty of options if Quick can't go on Sunday, but hopefully those options will include a well rested pen... need 2 quality starts from Adams and Alcock. Runs should be at a premium, especially tonight, but winning this first one is important for the series.

Dropping Fowler from leadoff and dropping Torres from cleanup (though he didn’t drop far). Moving Snell and Hodo up were both needed. Plattner at 4 is interesting but I don’t hate it (part of it I’m sure is Vaughn likes to keep the L R L R pattern). He’s been a good surprise with the bat so far and he should see some better pitches there with Hodo behind him and often times guys on base. Also, a lot of speed at the bottom. Hopefully this move takes some pressure off Fowler (who has had some tough luck in some ways) and get him going. Staton getting back to 100% is needed too, probably still some rust that needs to be shaken off from his finger injury.

Bama up 4-0, T4. Both lineups are really making the opposing pitcher work, this will be a bullpen game very soon. Good news for Bama is, while Zane Adams has battled and gotten into some jams, he's wiggled free thus far while his offense has put 4 runs across...

Bama ties in back up in their half of the 8th! Snell with the RBI single, now runners on the corners and 0 outs. Sooners bringing in their closer, game tied at 6. Plattner and Hodo due up...

Plattner hits one off the LF wall, just missed a 3 run HR... UA up 7-6, still batting...

And just as soon as I type that, a base running error by Bama results in a DP. That hurts. 2 outs now, runner on 3rd....
