Alabama wins in Jacksonville, 11-1. Some strong winds kept the Bama bats at bay to a degree, turning a handful of would-be HR's into routine fly balls... but the Tide still got it done in other ways, specifically with a little station to station action early on. Overall, Bama scored runs in 6 of their 9 innings at the plate. The play of the game was turned in by center fielder Bronomolo Jr... with 1 out and a runner on third, he hauled in a flyball and threw the runner out at the plate to end the 3rd inning (highlight below). The pitching staff certainly did their job, led my Myers who relieved Finateri. Myers has thrown 10 1/3 innings in relief now and is yet to surrender an earned run. Alabama is back home tomorrow night to take on a ranked Troy team at The Joe.

The Crimson Tide produced 15 hits while allowing just four in the victory

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. –
No. 23 Alabama baseball took down Jacksonville State, 11-1, on a windy Tuesday night at Rudy Abbot Field at Jim Case Stadium, securing the season sweep of the Gamecocks. The victory improves the Crimson Tide to 13-0 to begin the 2025 campaign.

Bryce Fowler closed 3-for-6 with two RBI atop the Tide lineup, contributing a pair of RBI-singles. Kade Snell was 3-fof-4 with a double and an RBI while Richie Bonomolo Jr. was also 3-for-4, adding a walk and two stolen bases. Will Plattner managed two hits in his four at-bats, including a double and two RBI. Justin Lebron drove in four runs as part of his 1-for-4 night, picking up his first triple of the new season. Coleman Mizell and Jason Torres were also responsible for an RBI apiece.

Aeden Finateri was tasked with his first start of the season, as the senior allowed just one run on three hits and two walks with a strikeout over his 2.1 innings. Braylon Myers (2-0) earned the win after tossing 2.2 scoreless frames out of the Tide bullpen. Myers surrendered just one hit and two walks with two strikeouts over his eight outs. Tate Robertson allowed just one baserunner over his 3.0 scoreless innings, while Ariston Veasey struck out the side in a scoreless ninth to close out the win.

From Head Coach Rob Vaughn

"A very professional win from our guys tonight. The weather was wild, but the boys were locked in and won it with a lot of toughness. (Aeden) Finateri gave us a great start and (Braylon) Myers, (Tate) Robertson and (Ariston) Veasey were elite out of the 'pen. Proud of the way our guys went about their business tonight."

A pretty nice test for Bama today... still a midweek affair, so keep that in mind as it means midweek pitching, but Troy comes in 11-1 overall with their only loss being 6-5 at auburn. Their starter today (Sr. RHP Adam Falinski) actually started that game in auburn and also at Mississippi State (a game they lost 6-5). In those 2 games combined, he went 7 2/3 IP, 10 H, 10 K's, 3 BB, and 3 ER. Bama counters with Jr. RHP JT Blackwood who is 2-0 as a midweek starter thus far.

Bama wins, 3-1. Game had a bit of an SEC feel to it with some good pitching. The big hit for the Tide was Lebron's 2 run HR (his 9th of the season). Blackwood went 4 innings, Heiberger relieved with 4 really strong innings, and Ozmer got his 3rd save and 3 K's in the 9th to close it down. Next up, 3 at home vs. Presbyterian this weekend.

The Crimson Tide earned its second ranked victory of the spring

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –
No. 23 Alabama baseball defeated No. 19 Troy, 3-1, in a pitcher's duel on Wednesday night at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The victory improves Alabama to 14-0 on the young season.

The Trojans drove in the game's initial run in the third, but the Tide immediately answered in its half of the inning when Justin Lebron provided the biggest swing of the night, connecting on a two-run home run to seize the early lead. Brady Neal produced an insurance run in the sixth with an RBI fielder's choice, the final tally to what became the eventual final score.

JT Blackwood surrendered his only run in the third, working 4.0 innings while allowing five hits to go with a pair of strikeouts. Matthew Heiberger (1-0) followed Blackwood's effort by working a career-high 4.0 innings of his own, surrendering just one hit, one walk and a hit batsman while fanning three Trojans to earn the win. Carson Ozmer worked a scoreless ninth, allowing one batter to reach before striking out the next three en route to his fourth save of the year.

Will Hodo led the Tide's offensive attack, turning in a 2-for-4 performance with a run scored. Kade Snell was 1-for-3 with a double while Brennen Norton and Coleman Mizell finished with one hit apiece.

From Head Coach Rob Vaughn

"That's a top twenty-five matchup, and I think it lived up to the building. We've been able to go out and and really just kind of outslug people the first three weeks this season. But, a majority of the games we're going to play the rest of the way are going to feel way more like tonight where it's a pitch here, a play here, an opportunity to execute offensively there – and it was good to see us kind of stick with it. JT (Blackwood) was great to start. He scattered five hits and gave up one run, and he made some really big pitches in big spots. Then, obviously, getting Matty (Heiberger) back; he's been working really hard to get himself back to where he's at. Everybody knows he has a good heater, but he threw some really good changeups tonight. He executed in some big spots, fielded his position well, just all the things that elite winning baseball looks like, Matty (Heiberger) did tonight, and then (Carson Ozmer) finished it. We left some meat on bone there in the fourth and we could have lengthened that out a tick more, but credit Troy's team, that's a really good ballclub. So, good one for our group and proud of the way we competed tonight."
