Well, that game is mercifully over. Vols win 9-2 and take the series. The team's worst game of the season... Lebron's worst game of the season... just have to flush it. Vitello making 3 meaningless pitching changes in the 9th like the little annoying fuck that he is... Anyway, Bama falls to 4-2 in the SEC. Next up, the Tide travels to Huntsville on Tuesday to take on North Alabama. Then it's back home for 3 against Oklahoma, another really good team.

I'm happy we pulled atleast one, and really had our chances last night. That's a big improvement over where we thought this team would be. Tennessee has some bombers and we showed we could play with them for atleast two of the three.

Vaughn got ejected. What was he upset about?

I haven't seen the postgame interview yet,but IMO it was a buildup of some stuff from yesterday... ball/strike calls mostly. The trigger was, Vol fouled a strike 3 pitch, and it hit the dirt but Plattner wanted the play reviewed because he thought he caught it clean. Vaughn, I think realized it hit the dirt, but asked the umpire to ask for help on the call. Which he did, and Vaughn never asked for a review. But during the pretty quick exchange, something was said and Vaughn went off. Ump let him walk away, but Vaughn wanted to get run and said something else. I think he was just trying to show the umps he wasn't happy with their efforts and also light a fire under his own guys who were getting knocked around early.

Yeah seems the equivalent of Oats getting a technical to get his guys to play harder. Happened a few years ago vs Mississippi State I believe.

I like it. Shows Vaughn has some fire.

Funny part of it is, I think Bama is better overall than last year (by a little). Vols, IMO, about the same or a maybe small tad worse overall. This time last year, Bama took the series with them... the last team to do so. Bama just needs to stay the course, stay healthy, and keep improving. Getting Staton back will be a boost, IMO, and also provide some flexibility in the lineup.

You could see it happening since the hire of Wes Johnson, but UGA baseball is becoming a problem. Another example of a school that decided to make a particular sport a priority and make a significant commitment to it. Now, it's paying off. Well, it already was... but now it's showing it wasn't a fluke or simply because of Condon.

My co-worker’s nephew pitched there - just got called up by the Brewers a couple of weeks ago
