After a rare "easy" SEC weekend at home against Missouri, Bama is back into the SEC grind this week, this time on the road in Nashville. The Tide will stick with last week's rotation on the mound, Fay (Fri), Quick (Sat), and Adams (Sun). Vandy's bats haven't been very explosive or consistent this season (their tem BA is just .002 points better than SEC's worst hitting team, Missouri), but as usual, their pitching keeps them in (and wins them) plenty of games. It'll be really important for Fay to build off his solid outing from a week ago and hopefully put Bama in a good spot to take game 1. A series win would be really big for Bama in terms of postseason resume data points, which will be needed soon as the Tide is firmly on the bubble of locking down a regional spot with 3 SEC weekends (plus the SEC Tournament) left. Bama (12-9 in the SEC) comes in with a 4 game SEC win streak. Vandy (also 12-9) comes in having lost 2 of 3 in Oxford last weekend.

Also worth noting, the weather in Nashville is iffy at best tonight and tomorrow... so there could be some game time movement or a DH at some point...

LOL, in oher games... The Vols screwed themselves. A massive weather front was moving in and instead of delaying the start of the game another hour or so, the Vols went ahead with it... rain started, auburn scored 2 in the top of the 1st. Rain got harder, umps called for the tarps... so auburn pitcher never had to throw. Vitello was mad because his guy did. Either Vitello is a fucking idiot for not checking the weather (unlikely) or he knew it was gonna pour and wanted the auburn pitcher to have to throw in it too (likely) and it came back to bite him.

Well... not much to be happy about with that dud. Tyler Fay did pitch really well, better than could have been asked for really... they just left him in an inning too long. Probably worked out for the best anyway, instead of burning the high end relief arms in a 0-0 game where Bama's bats were useless until garbage time. So, maybe it's good we threw cannon fodder at them the rest of the way... just have to hope it doesn't warm their bats up so much that it carries over to tomorrow. This Vandy team is good, but they aren't their usual "Vandy good". Bama made them look like one of the elite Vandy teams tonight though, and that's disappointing. The Tide better find some offense quick or this will be a long series, and likely a rough ending to the regular season. Maybe they can get some runs for Quick tomorrow... maybe. hopefully.
