Bottom line remains, Bama needs to take care of their own business, starting with getting the win tonight... but some good news from a data standpoint, Texas A&M beat UGA tonight and that should put them right back at 59 or 60 in the RPI (depending on other results) which would put 3 wins back in UA's Quad 1 column. WOuld probably need A&M to win again tomorrow to keep them though. Also, would be helpful if OU could find a way to beat Texas twice... it would mean 2 more Q1 wins as well. RIght now, they are slotted as Q2.

With a Bama win tonight, UA could sneak up to 7th.

I was honestly hoping for better hitting this season. It has its spurts, but reverts back to undisciplined at bats and cold stretches. Cannot have that at all when you have a bullpen as bad as ours.

Didn't even take a minute for Alabama to go down in order. I think JJ should rightfully take criticism for how poor pitching has been this season, but the thing Alabama should do well under Vaughn is their approach at the plate. It has been pretty mid.

Their swing a miss rate is abysmal. And it wouldn't hurt as much if they had more power, but they don't. Going forward, they've got to figure that out... having a couple of guys with a high swing and miss rate is ok, but Bama's order is filled with them. They need some guys that make contact. And earlier in the year, they were better overall at working counts and drawing walks.. a lot of that has evaporated. Nothing about this team is consistent other than being inconsistent. Last night for example, the first 3 innings and the last 6 were like 2 different teams in terms of their approach.

Yeah I'm just holding out hope that Vaughn just needs more time to get his guys. But for being an analytical guy combined with a love for the longball, I just wished for more offensive firepower and consistency.
