⚾ 🥎 ⚾ #18 Alabama at #15 Vanderbilt - Vandy takes weekend series, 2-1. (Troy, Tuesday night.)

Well, this team still has some fight in them at least. The hitting wasn't really in abundance today, but it was timely in most cases which is just as important. Was good to see a couple of the guys have much better AB's than they've been showing lately. Still some struggles though and overall still way too many K's (and swings and misses overall). Right now collecting wins is what matters though and they've given themselves an opportunity to win the series tomorrow. On the mound, Quick was outstanding (his 3rd really good start out of the last 4 games)... career highs in both strikeouts (9) and innings (6). IMO, they left him in a batter too long in the 7th considering he was already extended and we had Myers waiting. Thankfully, that run didn't hurt Bama and Myers took care of the rest. I thought they'd leave Myers in for the 8th but they went with Ozmer early (which they like to do). I'd have held off and let Myers handle the 8th and see if Bama could plate another couple of runs in the top of the 9th so that Ozmer could have been saved for Sunday, but either way you dice it, it doesn't really matter. Myers should be able to give an inning tomorrow if needed. Anyway, Ozmer nailed it down for the 2 inning save (striking out the side [all swinging] in the 9th)... Bama will try for the series win tomorrow with Adams on the hill, game is set for 3 pm.

Quick looked dominant today! Agree with the one batter two long as well. Myers and Ozmer were lights out as well on minimal pitches. Lebron, while held hitless, he looked more comfortable at the plate and hit a couple of balls on the nose. Mizell was big today.
On my "list to do," I'm wondering how many pitches Oz threw in the 9th. I saw a comment last night he went through the 8th on 10 pitches.
