There is no doubt in my mind we were a top 10 team at the end of the season. I just had no idea where the pollsters would vote us after two, late season loses. # 7 is not bad at all to go along wit an 11-2 season. Overall, the SEC placed 7 teams in the top 25. We had a very good year and I am looking forward to next year.

Climbing the hill is always preferable to defending the top of it. Nevertheless, these poll rankings are just propaganda; sports bar wallpaper to keep fans tuned in, looking, and competitive amongst each other. They should post the Coaches & AP polls next to the list of Top Ten WWE wrestlers predicted to win the next Royal Rumble. Of course the WWE list does have a slight edge in that it's usually accurate. But hey... not that I disagree with the concept of footy polls. Brilliant marketing. But there are just way too many intangibles and variables in College ball for any "opinion" or computer poll to accurately assess & stack numerically 100 teams in terms real team quality and ability. Just ask Notre Dame.
