Junior Nate Craig-Myers, who has been a starter in each of the Tigers' first three games, is transferring and has left the team, according to a report from AuburnSports.com.

This comes after tight end Jalen Harris announced on Wednesday that he's leaving the program, redshirting and then joining another team in the spring as a graduate transfer.

Reserve cornerback John Broussard and punter Aidan Marshall left the program earlier in the season.

That's two starters on offense that have left this week--WR and TE.

Are we going to continue to see this in college football? It's not all going to be seen or felt after 4 weeks. Just depends on when these guys get their 4 games in. After Saturday, I think I would be mildly shocked if a number of schools don't feel this new redshirt rule.

I guess this how they can shop them selves as coaches do
Players have a small window and they are going to do whats best for themselves
You are right 100%
Try to get them selves in position to show case their talent

I think it will impact all across CFB but I can see it hurting some of the smaller programs more. Players who aren't as highly regarded coming out of high school but really show themselves in 1 or 2 seasons at a lower level G5 school may then choose to transfer to a larger school to get more exposure. The big successful programs will basically just be swapping around talent. IMO

i guess gone are the days when it was about the team.

That ended about 1999

Well go back even further to the days of Dupree, Dickerson, Bosworth etc

Since money was first collected for tickets and advertisers started paying for commercials it has been an evolutionary process to where we are now

There has always been some special players that had special treatment but even then it was Team 1st. Most wanted to play for a winning program with a great HC. Now they value playing time as much as winning since they can get to the NFL regardless to whether they win or not. Players have been going to college for a the value of a scholly for a 100 years and for the most part nobody said a word. However in these past 20 years now it is a big big deal that you only get a free education. What has changed? I know but I will keep that to myself.

You can see this having an impact on depth, first and foremost. I was a little shocked that the barner TE was actually starting some games and was involved in the game plan last Saturday. I'm with you about free agency, I don't know why that would scare a program like Bama. I was only half kidding about the walk-on punter that recently left the barn but he really was pretty decent and punted for them last year. Hey, whatever works.

Doesn't it feel like the new redshirt and transferring in the same conference rule from graduate players is the NCAA building a bridge to appease all these folks clamouring for player equality. It feels like we are only a stone's throw from the real free agency.

That and some form of payment is next. Whether I agree or disagree is immaterial. It is where the sport is going. I will continue to enjoy it until the tipping point comes where I personally no longer can. Then I will move on. That is exactly what happened to me personally with MLB. I don't bitch about it, I don't worry about it, I just don't watch follow or support it.

Same for me with all the pro sports. I was a Raiders, Lakers and Dodgers fan as a kid. Then in the 80's, they all pissed me off with striking for more pay, when they were making a fuckload of money. I quit caring about any pro team and focused solely on Bama.
