Did you guys see that missed holding call a minute ago in the SC game? NC State lineman got mugged going through the line. Not only did the SC lineman hook him, he also appeared to have grabbed the DLineman's facemask.

Looks like SEC-quality officiating there folks!

Seriously, how could you really be watching the game and miss that near beheading? For goodness sake he was twirled around in the air by his helmet! How do you miss that?

To be fair, the same thing could have happened at that momentum if the player would have been pulled by his shoulder pad, the change in momentum could have caused the sudden jerk and stop. The replay seems to have shown us that most of the time the officials get the call right. We can moan and groan all we want, but the stats bear out the fact the officials get the call right a majority of the time(don't have any stats handy just remember the story on NPR). I also recall a story that said that the SEC officials are the best in football. Why does the tome of this thread suggest otherwise? I am not being patronizing I am just curious as to why the tone.

But pulling on the pads does not make ones head spin like Linda Blair.

I was just waiting (once I heard they were SEC officials) to see the step in the hole, forearm shiver, take down.
Head just does not stop, while the body keeps going unless the head/facemask is grabbed. Bad miss. Lucky enough for NCS got the pass interference soon after and still could not score on a very TIRED South Carolina defense. It was an illegal tackle and the worst part is the line judge had a perfect view. He was looking right at it. Lucky for the SEC it was lost in the Oregon/BSU weirdness.

If the SEC is the best, I would hate to see the worst.
