Hey Porter, give me a percentage that he goes. TerryP, feel free to chime in.

I'm not into percentages, but I can tell you my worry meter isn't flickering, one bit. Stays or goes, it won't move.

The one thing that hasn't been pointed out here is Major did interview with Houston and Saban encouraged him to do so to "get used to the process."

I'm not in the camp of the "horrible game plan/calling" this past season. I am in the camp that says "we didn't have a good running attack and that one thing in itself had an effect on the entire offense." There were just too many factors with our offensive this past season to lay blame at anyone's feet. But, that's the way I see it...and there are some that disagree with that notion.

Another dead on post.

No offense to Mr. Applewhite.....

But I never really saw anything special about him during the 07 Season. We still ran the ball when we shouldn't had. We still sucked on 3rd downs. We still wern't anything special in the red zone.

If he stays...then i hope he has a huge turn around in 08...if not then he will need to be replaced anyways.

I can't really blame all that on CMA. If you call a running play to the right, and the defense brings up the LBs and a Safety to that side. It isn't the coaches fault if they still run it to that side.

Major is now employed by Texas. Look for Tom Clements or Steve Sarkisian to be offered the job. All I ask is please, please, no Bobby Williams and let Joe Pendry ease into retirement.

The only issues I have with MA leaving the program are the effects on recruiting. So long as there is NO effect on recruiting, then I'm not concerned one iota.

However, it'd be hard to believe that a couple of offensive committs might not be taken aback by this.

In all honesty, I didn't see anything special out of him either. He might turn into a wonderful OC, but the way coaching is nowadays, as soon as he starts to get serious credit for a team's success, then the scavenging begins, and other progams come calling, with cash in hand. It's how coaching is. Keeping a HEAD COACH is priority number 1, and our "pals" down in lee County have been able to one-up us on that for many years now. Tubs is going into his 10th season down at Crap-ville, and that's the kind of continuity that just can't be found anywhere else other than Knoxville, and until recently, Fayetteville.

It helps with recruiting.

I'm wondering If Mark Hudspeth from UNA would get a look? I heard ramblings last year that he may have been under consideration before MA got the job.

So it's official?

I've wondered how Applewhite, who ran a fairly wide-open offense at Rice, would fair being couple with a more conservative Joe Pendry, who was no great shakes as OC with the Texans in '05.

Anybody got a link?

Bobby Williams will be hired but not as OC.

is Tom Clements still with Green Bay or did he leaveif the later they did better without him but they were a young team so that had a part in it as well. a$#

RTR to all

I'd be happy with Gus Malzahn to be honest. I like the no huddle, and from what I heard, he's done a very wonderful job at Tulsa.

Ask for a third time... Third time is the charm, right?
I want Jimbo (always have), give him a lucrative contract with incentives... F$U will soon be a lose/lose situation, the writing is on the wall.

I see a lot of people point to his time at Texas as a judgment on is abilities. But, that isn't a fair shake, IMO.

When he took the job at Carolina he worked with an offense that moved to the playoffs/championships more quickly than any other NFL team ever had.

His time at Buffalo with the no-huddle and spread formation was one of the strongest passing attacks/offenses ever seen in the NFL. Heck, I'd hold it next to, if not above, what we saw with the "Greatest show on Turf" a few years later.

I don't care who you have as an OL coach...anytime yo have a team change offensive lines in roughly 75% of the games in one given season you are going to see problems. No matter at what level of play.

I think CMA should do what he feels is best for him and his family. I will hold no ill feelings should he decide to leave. However, I hope he stays.
