🏈 Applewhite expected to interview with Texas...

Well, I don't know when this story developed, but if you remember Major quickly refuted his interest in other jobs to Star Jackson back in late Nov./early Dec. He told Star he would be here at Alabama.

So, now you have no comments from Major, no comments from Star and an interview set up in Texas. Going by recent history this does not bode well.

I wish Major the best whether he stays or goes. My biggest concern is our "star" QB. He seems to be very close to Major. Also, how will this affect Julio?

All too early to tell as there is still a lot to unfold.

From my sensitive, understanding, and mature side...

Well, Major is a Texas alumnus (Thanks, Mr. Dubose) and has a close relationship with his old coaches. They gave him his first asst. jobs and got him started. Despite being raised an Alabama fan, it would have to hurt to not get a shot from your childhood dream school. Although I am sure he doesn't want to leave Bama in the lurch, he has to go where his loyalties lie. I wish him the best.

From my vocal, opinionated, rabid fan side...

If you go, Major, you can just kiss my hairy @$$. Unless you're getting shown the door, you're dropping way down on my respect meter. You were asked for two years minimum, given a hell of a paycheck for a less than 30 something, and are pulling this happy horses*&t within a month of NSD! If Alabama loses Star Jackson and Julio Jones or Burton Scott because of this crap, you deserve to be tarred...feathered... and have your manhood fed to Bevo!

You don't pi$$ on my Tide...BOY!

okie I got a dumb question
what would it matter who replaces ma if the person doesnt have totally control of the offense

If the next person is more experienced (as an OC), then he more than likely would have total control. Applewhite's greenness was the big reason that Pendry's prints were all over the offensive game plans and playcalling.

Hey Porter, give me a percentage that he goes. TerryP, feel free to chime in.

I think he's gone.
Supposedly he was already talking to UT last week. I too feel he is out of here, so be it if he is, we won't suffer anymore either way.

He's probably gone. Many times the "interview" is just the public acknowledgment that the move is imminent.

If he's gone, I wish him well. He's worked his butt of for Bama.

One thing I don't understand, since when did Texas and especially Mack Brown get big enough to BULLDOG BAMA and Saban. I have been to Austin and understand the dynamics around UT. They aren't even the real UT. I guess I just don't get it. Anyone care to shed some light on the subject?
Remember Coach Mack has been fishing into AU's pond as well for a few years now, look at Muschamp and look where he was before AU. Its like he is putting a super star staff of assistants right now there. Ut is on his ass about winning more and he is doing what he can to do so.

Coach Mcwhorter is a former customer of mine from when he lived in Atlanta and coached at GT, I sent him an email earlier and asked him what the scoop was out there! We will see if he replies with a serious answer. Doubtful

If CNS wants MA to stay, I think we could squeeze a few more rupies out of the budget and get him a raise. But I have a suspicion that CNS is looking to "take the team in another direction". I may be wrong, he may be all puzzled by this and on his hands and knees begging MA to stay.... All I or anyone can do is speculate, but if my hunch is correct, we will be sitting around with our jaws on the floor when we hear the replacement. We have Nick Saban, this is not Mike Shula, Mike Dubose or Bill Curry, he knows what he is doing.
